| So proud of my baby My hubbie got home and let Sadie out of her xpen. he took her outside and she went potty right away. He says he felt around in her crate and bed in the pen and she didn't wet there and he doesn't think she wet on the potty pads either. at 7 weeks old could my little baby be able to actually hold it all day like that?? she held it her first night home from about 10:30pm to 5:30am, she does drink plenty, i've watched her go and lap up water several times a day and it's out for her to have all day long.... man if that potty pad isn't wet i'm going to be completely thrilled that she might actually already be holding it all day WOW go Sadie!! I don't think there is a health issue here, she has every opportunity to pee on the pads or floor and she has water all day, and she may have peed on the pads and DH can't see it soaked in....but if she does hold it 8 hours is that still healthy for her?? |

| I'm glad Sadie had a good first day alone. FYI, the general rule for sleeping puppies is that they can hold it for one hour more than their age in months during the day, although that can be less for toy breeds with their tiny bladders. At seven weeks, she probably needs to pee every 2.5 hours or so. Playing puppies are a different story. They sometimes need to go 15 minutes after the last time they pottied. |

| I would check her blankie and bed to see if she tinkled there. Lexie was 10 wks old when she came home, she was able to hold it 3-4 hours tops during the day, she did go longer at night, if she was playing, more frequent bathroom breaks. That sounds way too long to go without tinkling especially for such a young age.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | when they pee its usually such a small amount and if they did it a while ago it probably dried up and is hard to see on her blankets. I made this mistake with morgan when she was a baby. i thought she held it while i was gone but when i picked up the blankets for laundry i noticed little stains

| At 7 weeks of age, Missy was sleeping through the night in my bed without having to go to the bathroom. She doesn't go pee/poo if I leave her at home during the day either, but that's not usually all day. They are all so different, but I think this is a good sign that Sadie will train easier than others. I know my Missy has been a breeze and using an ex-pen was such an easy way to train her. GOOOOOOOOOO Sadie! If you and hubby can keep being as consistant as you are, I don't think that you'll have any problems. How is she doing otherwise? Still eating, drinking, peeing, pooping like normal? No problems with low blood sugar yet? She's adjusting well? Sorry for being nosey, I just care

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I have read that toy breeds are stubborn when it comes to potty traiing but when I brought Niyah home, she was potty trained in a matter of days. Granted that she was 2 yrs but she was pad trained by her previous owner. Not trained outside. I put a pee pad down for her for several days but she preferred to go outside. Never used the pee pad once. She is not crazy about grass but she will go when I take her out. She is just one awesome dog. Now on the other hand, My Samoyed is over a year and she still will mess on my floor and we take her out several times a day. She cannot be trusted and has a much larger bladder than Niyah seeing that she weighs around 40 pounds. She is one stubborn dog.
