| Do all grown dogs hate puppies? I feel sooo bad for my Ella. She loooves other dogs and gets really excited when she meets a new dog. She wants to play and gets really hyper and in their faces and stuff. But every single dog she has ever met hates her!!!! I dont know if its because she is very annoying to them becasue she is so hyper or if she is just an outcast. Either way, I feel so bad for her. She doesnt have any doggie friends! What can I do to fix this? Is it normal? Silly girl thinks she is invincible and goes jumping up on big dogs and makes them mad... I am scared she is going to get hurt....

Thor's Human Donating Member | Yes, how old is she? I doubt she's an outcast, ha ha. It might be the hyperness. When you say other dogs hate her, how do they show this? Maybe she just needs to meet some mellow adults. Also... it is possible that maybe she is a rude puppy. It's not her fault, she's young. A lot of adult dogs correct rude puppies, and dogs tend to be not so tactful with corrections. With an adult dog you trust, I would probably let them correct her so she learns what is expected of her. Also, maybe she just needs to meet some more puppies! When was she taken from her mother?

Thor's Human Donating Member | Just FYI, Thor has no dog friends either. The only dogs he likes are even more neurotic and timid than he is.

| you can only teach her human manners. Only other dogs can teach her dog manners. apparently, she is lacking in these! My 5 pounder regularly jumps on my 95 pounder growling and playing like he was a litter mate...but my 20 pound yorkie puts him straight, with a snarl and a snap most times. You have to let her learn what is NOT acceptable (ie, hyper!) behavior and only another do can do this. if you trust that dog, let it happen...

The 3 Musketeers Donating Member | I have a 13 yr old Cocker Spaniel who loves both of my little ones, Misty my 2 3/4 yr old Yorkie and Cassie my 12 wk Maltese. She supervises the little one and even now lets Cassie crawl all over her. Misty really just tolerates Cassie but adores Mazie. I love my kids!!!!!

| I would try to bring her around a dog friendly mellow dog of a friends and let them play a few times throughout the week to get her used to the order of the pack and teach her some poochie manners. Puppies are very active and dont know when to stop and when you bring them around others they learn that it is playing time, eating time, potty time, and sleeping time- they tend to follow the crowd. Best of luck!

| She is 4 and a half months old.... She hangs out with my boyfriends poodle mix like everyday and Ella is getting better around her, but the poodle mix still cant stand her. Ella likes to run under her and get in her face and jump on her and the other dog will growl at her and if that doesntwrok she will snap at her. The thing is, Ella never learns she keeps doing the same exact stuff lol AS SOON as she gets snapped at, she will whimper for like 3 seconds and then go right back to playing with her like a maniac! Its so frustrating. She is getting a teeeeeny bit better with this dog tho but as soon as she sees another dog she gets outta control and doesnt remmeber anythin the poodle mix has taught her... She has played with my dad's lab, my cousin's norfolk/chi mix, my boss' yorkie, my aunt's standard poodles all with the same effect. Only I dont know these dogs enough to let them show her whose boss I dont think.

| No 10 weeks is not too early. She is just a baby and wants to play that's all. Play with her to tire her out. You can teach her dog ettiquet but it is much more effective if the other dog does it as long as you don't feel she is in danger. Puppies are really quick to squeal and roll over so usually a snap from the older dog is all that is necessary. |

| Adult dogs don't hate puppies they just don't like being jumped on. The feel they are due some respect and will correct the pup when they feel it necessary. Buddy loves all small dogs. He does not tolerate being jumped on, he will growl and back up. In the future I want a little girl and I know it would be unfair to him to have to tolerate a puppy so I will be searching for an adult girl so they will get along from the very first minute. It's never to late to train your puppy, however, with maturity, around 1yr of age they do calm down but you need to teach her no jumping. Treat her evertime she get's down from jumping on you. Tell her good girl, then treat. Work on this daily. Adult dog's do not like to be jumped on at all. |

Adult dogs are great to have around actually to give corrections to your pup. She just needs to learn manners My uncle's fiance just got a Yorkie puppy and I brought Jackson over there and while Jackson is still fairly young himself (he's 10 months old) he did not appreciate that puppy going under his legs and jumping all over him. He gave a little growl, a little nip, and the puppy then learned that quickly. Just socialize your pup as much as you can and she will learn!
