The feel they are due some respect and will correct the pup when
they feel it necessary. Buddy loves all small dogs. He does not tolerate
being jumped on, he will growl and back up. In the future I want a
little girl and I know it would be unfair to him to have to tolerate a puppy
so I will be searching for an adult girl so they will get along from the
very first minute.
It's never to late to train your puppy, however, with maturity, around
1yr of age they do calm down but you need to teach her no jumping.
Treat her evertime she get's down from jumping on you. Tell her good girl,
then treat. Work on this daily. Adult dog's do not like to be jumped on
at all. |
Yep!
Adult dogs are great to have around actually to give corrections to your pup. She just needs to learn manners
My uncle's fiance just got a Yorkie puppy and I brought Jackson over there and while Jackson is still fairly young himself (he's 10 months old) he did not appreciate that puppy going under his legs and jumping all over him. He gave a little growl, a little nip, and the puppy then learned that quickly. Just socialize your pup as much as you can and she will learn!
