How could a person NOT talk to these babies? I have always talked to mine and do find myself apologizing whenever I accidently hurt them, whether it is a step on the paw or brushing a mat out. I tell them I love them, and I scold them a bit when needed too. My Rocky is quite a character and already knows to lay on the theatrical sweetness when my tone sounds like a scolding. Works like a charm too!

I talk to Samantha all the time and always apologize when appropriate.

In fact, I no longer wear shoes in the house because when she was a pup I kept stepping on her. I don't like to wear shoes in the house anyway, being a Southern country girl, but in Cairo the floors are always dirty. People who don't know us come to my house and take off their shoes because I am in socks or barefoot. Then I have to tell them to pick up the shoes before Samantha gets them!

Cute! I talk to Pixel all the time too. The funniest time was in the airport. I have a bag for him that looks just like a purse and as we were getting off the plane I was saying "good boy have to go potty?" "you held it sooo long," etc. etc. Well the guy in front of me in line turned around and looked at me funny. Later, we were both getting something to eat and he sees Pixel and says "OMG you have a dog in there! I wondered who you were talking to!" I guess he originally thought I was asking HIM if he needed to go potty LMAO
