Be polite is necessary. While cleaning the house or just walking around my house Rockie is always underfoot. I always have to say excuse me or nana is sorry because sometimes when l'm moving to fast and he's right there, l have step to close and he will let me know l've come to close to a paw.:( l immediately pick him up and tell him nana is sorry; he forgives me too:p I find myself talking to him alot. My daughter looks at me as though l have lost it.:D Does anyone else say their sorry for something to their furbabies |
Yes! Luna is still very young, just a baby really and is in the way if she is awake. I have to apologize all the time to her. I have seen others in the house doing the same. Picking her up and saying "OH! I am sorry! You need to walk somewhere else Luna! YOu are going to get stepped on!" |
Your not the only crazy one. I always say sorry if they get undefoot or when I am grooming them and hit a mat. |
You are not alone! We talk daily here ;) |

I talk to my baby continually, even when we are out walking I praise him when he goes toilet, I tell him I'm not walking on muddy grass or we can't chase the ducks etc etc, people must think I'm nuts, I talk to him like a human, but I don't care I love him. |

LOL I talk with mine all the time too. When they sneeze I say God bless you. They look at me like they understand. |
Years ago I took a training class with my first YT. Apparently some people have problems getting their dogs to move out of the way and the trainer told us to use the command "Move it!". I burst out laughing and had to explain that I had always just said "Excuse me" and the dog moved. I just decided that maybe if we're polite with our dogs maybe it works as well as it does with humans. LOL:):):) |

I talk to all my animals ALL the time. I think that the conversation is good for our human souls and our animals always feel included in our lives. When it comes time for verbal commands I use a serious tone but for general chit chat I talk normally. Lately Bella Mia and I have been leaning over the edge of the kiddie pool looking in to the pool filled with our 5 (almost 5 week old) puppies disccussing the puppies and what we should do with them. Sherman has NO manners when it comes to nursing, he always pushes and shoves his way in and hogs the milk, Spike is a bit of a crybaby crying if he doesnt get his way wanting to be held, Max needs to go to sleep when all the other puppies do instead of always staying awake much latter than everyone else, Lily has not been acting very ladylike she was caught trying to "hump" a stuffed animal and she is a girl, and Bumblebee is the runt and we are worrying that he is developing a bit slower than all the rest but we will keep our eyes on him. This is GREAT conversation for us....luckily my family also talks to the animals so my conversations with Bella Mia are normal to them.:animal36 |
