| Your Yorkie's Name Do any off you have stories of how you choose your Yorkies Name. Bela, my eldest, she is 4.5 years old was chosen by myself, a few years back we had a German Sheppard called Leba, sadly Leba died at just 8 years of age due to hormonal problems, she was a lovely dog and will stay in my heart forever. When we went to choose Bela we arrived at the breeders home where we were greeted by 2 gorgeous little Yorkies 1 male and 1 female, the little Female ran straight to my wife and when my wife bent down to pick her up it was love at first touch, my wife said this is our dog as she has chosen us what shall we call her, I immediately thought of Leba's letters and came up with the name Bela. Leo name was chosen by my Grandson, why Leo I don't know but I must say it does suit him as he thinks he is a Lion.. As I type this they are both playing with a chew stick, why they cant eat their own I don't know, they always play over one. |

| I used to pick names of favoite characters in the movies, but my last four were adopted and already had names which I decided to keep, as maybe the one stable thing in their lives.

BANNED FOR NOT SENDING A GIFT EXCHANGE GIFT! | Well how i picked Denzel name is a little funny i guess well to me. so before he came home i kept thinking and thinking of boy names. i had seen pictures of him because i got him from a breeder in Missouri and she named him Norton. i didn't like that name because he didn't look like a Norton. so when it was time to get him i still didn't have a name. i get to LAX and im anticipating to see him the line is kind of long still no name yet. and when it was my turn and i gave the lady the information and she says OMG YOUR YORKIE IS SOOOOO BEAUTIFUL! so im like ok ok(thinking to myself i just want my baby) so i opened his kennel and he was curled up and he lifted his head i said OMG HE'S PERFECT COME HERE DENZEL. and my boyfriend says Denzel i didn't know you picked the name you forgot to tell me i said no i didn't pick his name Denzel just popped out of my mouth ahahaha. it was at that moment that he was the most beautiful baby in my eyes and i guess Denzel popped out of my mouth because he has been considered one of the sexiest man alive ahahaha so thats how my baby got his name. |

| Well in our family all the girls names begin with a K . I had chosen the name Kiki because my daughters nickname is Kaykay . As for her registered name my daughter named her after her favorite book Daisy Head Maisy. With her hair pulled up in a ponytail she said she looked like she has a daisy growing out of her head. Registered name is Kaykay's Daisy Head Maisy and call name is Kiki Are female Boston Terrier got her name beacuse she jumped like a kangaroo ,we just shortened it to Kanga Girl .Her registered name is Nathanial's touch me Not she got that name because she didn't like for anybody to touch her when she slept. Are male Boston Terrier got his name Tommy boy from the brand name. His registered name is Wesley's Tommy Boy Tom Tom.

| Before I decided I was not having any more children, I was going to name my next (if it was a girl) Madison Marie. So I thought since I'm not having any more, that is what I would name my dog.

| babies name well my babies name is Armani...he is still at the breeder since he will be only 8 weeks tomorrow...I just might keep that name...looking for something different and I like the name brand products and Armani is one of them but I am still undecided though. we have two other dogs, one is named Merlin and the other is Shadow. Merlin because he would always try to disappear and then Shadow because he is all black, that is my daughter's dog.

| Before we picked up our girl Yorkie we had a week to decide on a name. I started looking online at cute dog names. I was really excited to pick a girl name since I have 2 sons all boys in our house it was fun to come up with a girl name! So as I looked through the list of names my husband and kids would listen to some I had picked. I got through a few and got to the name Carly. My oldest son who is 8 loves the show on Nickelodeon iCarly. He was jumping up and down and begging to name her Carly. I had also heard that if you end a dogs name in the E sounds they respond quicker to it. I liked the name too but wanted to put a spin on it since I was'nt the only one getting to decide so I changed the spelling and we call her Karlee! The middle name is still trying to be chosen but she already knows when we say Karlee we are talking to her. We have had her for 2 days now! Love this thread great idea!! |

| You might find it odd and a bit long Our Pistol was named after a Yorkie my DH got me 25 years ago for a wedding present. One day when my first puppy was 16 weeks old he crawled into my husbands work boot to take a nap. When DH put his foot in his boot he discovered the pup inside and said " If I would have been in a hurry you would have been a sorry son of a gun " So he was registered as Daddy's Sorry Son of a Gun. His call name was Sorry. Sorry passed away shortly after due to a congenital heart defect . I had known about the defect but fell in love and bought him anyway. The breeder offered to sell me another puppy from a litter she had due in a month, but it was to soon for me.Well life happens and I never got another Yorkie, I always talked about getting one but couldn't bring myself to actually contact a breeder. Well this year was our 25th wedding anniversary and my DH surprised me with a Yorkie as my present, just as he did 25 years ago. I decided to name him after my beloved first Yorkie and registered him as Mama's Sorry Son of a Gun. Now I wanted a call name that kind of went with the gun theme. I had plenty of suggestions, AK, Derringer, Smith and Wesson, just to name a few. Well one day the new pup was running around the house stealing socks and running away like a maniac. My son said " He is a little pistol " and it stuck. It met my criteria of gun related and to be sure he is a pistol. |

| My grandson, Ian, loved the 2005 remake of Peter Pan. We watched it over and over. So then when it came time to get my puppy, I recalled a part in the movie. At the end of the movie Wendy, Michael and John come home bringing with them The Lost Boys - who do not have a mother. Aunt Millicent says to one of the Lost Boys, "Is your name Slightly?" Slightly says "Yes." Aunt Millicent said, "Then I am your mother." Slightly says, "How do you know?" Aunt Millicent replied, "I feel it in my bones." When I first met my baby Yorkie...I said,"Is your name Slightly?" I knew I was his mother. I felt it in my bones.... |

| Roxie was our first and we loved the musical Chicago. We named Roxie after Roxie Hart- the little jazz dancer who killed a man and got off- fits her perfectly! She is the feistiest little thing around! Ryder we thought was going to go with my hubby and be his riding buddy in his semi. Well turns out hes not a rider! LOL And our new boy on the way we chose Kenworth after the truck my hubby rolled. It really saved his life and we have never heard the name- unique!

| Actually, Jackson got his name from the Johnny Cash song... ya know, "I'm goin' to Jackson..." lol. I was watching the movie on TV and always loved that song the most and I don't know, it just stuck. Now, after all this Michael Jackson stuff happening too, it's kind of fitting, I suppose. I was never what I would call a "fan" of MJ but I always thought he was innocent, LOVE his music first and foremost... so it's kind of fitting. lol. But that's not why he was named that.

| For Chip, we went on google and looked up dog names. My mom was throwing out ideas and one time said "Chip". At first I was like "ehhh... what else?" but hubby and the family really liked it and it grew on me too, so that was his name and now I can't imagine him being called anything else. Smokey came to us with his name and he had been through sooooo much in his 6 months of life that I just decided to keep it the way it was. I didn't want to confuse him any more than he already was. His name from his original owners was Coby, but I didn't know that until about a month later. We usually just call him Moke most of the time.
