| How fun! My first girl, Penny was named after Penelope on my favorite show, Lost. Reason being that she was english, and yorkies are from Yorkshire, in England. And my 4 y/o granddaughter, Kyra named Jolene. She loves singing the Dolly song Jolene, she is a riot when she sings it, and started calling the puppy Jolene, so that stuck. As for the rest of their names, I asked for advice on this site and used the names you gave me! Penny is Penelope Pippin-Squeak and Jolene is Jolene Jo Jo Jumpin Bean.

YT 500 Club Member | When we decided we were ready for another dog I wanted a boy as all but one of my others had been girls and I felt I wasn't ready for another girl just then. We were going through names and after I saw him- first time at 4 weeks- decided on Alfie. His breeder let me choose his regestered name and with in days of him arriving it was obvious he was a right imp, ans small So he became Naylenor[ his breeders affix] Little Imp. Rosie came along after much pleading with my mother to allow me to get her a pup, she'd been a bit depressed with being in and out of hospital, and Alfie needed a companion. She said only if it was a tiny girl she could call Rosie. She'd been secretly pining for her little girl Hope who we lost 3 years ago at x-mas. Hope got her name as she was born in the new year and we weren't sure she would survive. Her regestered name was Pocketful of Dreams because she was so tiny she fit in my pocket at 12 weeks old. |

| I decided to let Samantha tell me her name. It took us about a week to figure it out. We considered Maggie but there was already one in the family. Then Lucy was tried on for size but no one liked it. Finally, we tried Samantha, although it is not a name I particularly like, and it just fit. I tried calling her Sam and then Sammie, but she responded only to Samantha. People used to say it was a big name for a small dog but her personality grew up to it and we don't hear that any more. The only little problem is that it is a difficult name for Arabic speakers so she gets called a number of variations by her Egyptian friends. She doesn't care, she loves them all anyway! |

| Magpie earned her name by being a little klepto. Everytime we 'lose' something it can be reclaimed from her bed. Keys, cell phones, TV remote, anything close and dear (even money!). Luna I liked in the Harry Potter movie, and when I looked it up and found Luna is the goddess of the moon it fit (she is a parti with lots of white).
