| Should have called him Shredder Our little guy Rudy has had a couple of rough months. First he was attacked by an offleash dog while on a walk in May, then he had to have surgery a couple of weeks ago since the puncture wound made during the attack wouldn't heal properly. He is doing great now and healing very well. During the last couple of months, his walks have been curtailed by the vet, so he has taken up a new hobby while housebound. No piece of paper is safe from him. First it was the receipts that hubby left around the house, then it was the toilet paper roll (he learned that if he stood on the scale he could reach it and pull yards and yards off at a time), then the mail on the corner table became a target, and tonight when I heard hubby bellowing down the hallway, I went down to the bedroom to find Rudy buried in mountains of paper in the middle of the bed. Seems that he has developed a taste for Westerns, and decided to chomp on a couple of Zane Grey novels. I think hubby was more upset about the books than he was when Rudy shredded his five dollars he left on the bed while having a shower. I am not upset with Rudy, he is just doing what a bored dog will do, look for something to get into. He has taught hubby a good lesson, pick things up and put them away, keep the bathroom door closed, and always keep a sense of humour...lol

| Hahaha, it's good to hear Rudy's healing. I mean, what else is he supposed to do when he's bored at home?

| We have a paper chewer too! On long trips from home we kennel our two, but for short trips around town I let them be- in the last three trips Ryder has decided my tribute mag to Michael Jackson was yummy, our Allstate Bill, and the newspaper is yummy. I dont think Ryder is doing it out of boredom like your Rudy, but more so angry about not being able to go! LOL

| We have always said Fergus was part goat. No paper is safe in our house: reciepts, bills, mail, grocery bags, you name it. Now of course, he has enlisted the cat to help him. She gets up on my desk and knocks down papers, post it notes (his personal favorite!) proposals for jobs.... Our breeder warned us he was paper obsessed. He never met a tag he didn't feel needed ripped off of whatever it was on. you gotta love these guys...5lbs of raw shredding machine!

| Kleenex! Samantha has given new meaning to the phrase "my dog at my homework"! There is almost nothing that she loves more than a good tissue - used or not. And she's way past being a puppy! Other paper is fairly safe now, except money. One of the tellers at the bank laughs whenever he sees me because I once brought in a 100LE (about $20) note that was in six pieces and taped back together. He said "Where did you get this?" and I said seriously "My dog ate it." At which point, we both cracked up. At least she is neat. The only time she got the tp was when she was a pup and I had just had back surgery so couldn't bend to pick up the mess. The friend who cleaned it up was pleased that it was all in one small space since it was the whole roll! What on earth did I do for entertainment pre-Miss S????? |

| Anything paper... ...within Sophie's reach is instantly shredded. Faster than the eye can percieve! No mystery, I just got the Yorkie with the chipper/shredder option!
