| Swimming? Anyone let your yorkie swim in the water? I put Lucy in my sister's pool to see if she could swim. She automatically knew to get her little legs paddling. If you hold her near water she'll start paddling her legs getting ready. So cute. She must have liked it because she jumped into the lake, on her own, after my sister's springer spaniel shortly after.

| One of mine likes to swim and one of them hates it. My little Maddie really likes the lake but she doesn't spend all that much time swimming she jumps in and then gets right back out. I let her swim, but only supervised, I have heard of alot of yorkie drownings so I am always extra careful. Copper hates the water, he fell in a pool once durring a play date and now he wants nothing to do with the water. i think it is really cute that your baby likes it.

| Cali likes the water only when there is someone in the pool she always thinks there drowing and she comes in to save you. It's so freaking cute.

| Mia thinks the pool is just for her! She will bark at the door, thinking she has to potty, I open it. Today she went swimming multiple times. Last summer I took her in on the first step, and let her stand on a kick board while I kicked. This year she totally caught on to swimming and loves it. My hubbie and I just laugh at her little cute swimming attitude! She chases the ball, bats it around the water, grabs it and then jumps out. Supervised swimming is all we allow. |

| My Duchess loves to swim. When the kids are playing in the water at the lake and they call her she will swim out to them then swim back to shore. The others not so much. 3 of the 7 puppies I have will walk through their water bowl. I think they watched my Pug splash in his bucket and they started to do it as well. I do remember 1 of my puppies being soaked b/c they jumped into Terry's bucket. (It's actually a rectangular dish bucket about 6in. or so high.) Not a bucket per say.

YT Addict | I have been wanting to take harley swimming soooo bad. I don't know if he would like it because he hates bathtime. I want to buy him a life jacket to wear so he can relax some in the pool and not tire himself out. I've been debating it because it may end up being a waste of money if he doesn't like it. |

| Allie loves to swim. We bought her a kiddie pool when we noticed that she loved wading in her water bowls in the heat. So we bought her a very small pool, but that wasn't big enough to swim. When we took her to the beach, she followed me right in to the water. She loved the swimming!

| Tessie loves swimming in my parents pool. We started by sitting on the top step with her so that she could get her feet wet and cool off. Then we would hold her and walk around with her. Then we would let her go and she would swim to us. She automatically knew how to swim. I've tried 2 different life jackets, but they are both too heavy for her. When we let go of her she tips forward, but she swims perfect without the life jacket. She is about 3 lbs and I've tried the XXS size in both. |

| Fergus swims like a champ....something we discovered when after having had the cover on the pool all his short little life, we took it off this spring. PLOP!! ran right to edge and didn't even LOOK! but he scampered directly to the shallow end with the steps, like he just KNEW and climbed out. He goes in if I am in, but hasn't shown any desire to go on his own...my GSD on the other hand would spend every waking minute in the pool, then come in soaking wet and lie down on my carpet! |

| Yep, Jackson did the same thing the first time I put him in the water, with his little legs paddling before he even touched the water, lol. So cute. He loves our pool. Sometimes he doesn't feel like getting in but the other day, he jumped in by himself!

| swimming Bella Loves to catch the toy (a certain) one that's the signal she can go in. If that toy is not in the pool she does not go in. She is supervised all the time. Jack Hates the water he would much rather play in the sprinklers. On the life jacket I have 2- but they don't do well with them. We taught them to swim back to the stairs. (you repeat) all the time to go back. She is doing good with that. Cheryl |

| Sometimes when we are all outside in the pool Bella will jump in after one of us. We can't tell if she really means to jump in or if she's just chasing after us. When she jumps in we watch her carefully...and she knows where the steps are to get out. One time she jumped on the float with my granddaughter, rode for a minute then jumped back off! The two males absolutely hate it, and bark every second that we are in. I have to put them inside to have any peace and quiet. Swimming is really good exercise for them I wish the other two would go in occasionally, but I don't force them.
