| Is he eating just puppy food or are you giving lots of treats? That can be something making him gain. Maybe he wasn't eating a whole lot before you got him and he just got an appetite now he is really eating what he should have been. They usually stop growing at 7-8 months old and fill out from there. I have one 2.5lb. a 3.5 and a 4.5 then my Autumn who is 3.5 and the shortest in height just heavy. ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Our guy was about 5 pounds at 4 months too and is now 2 years old and weighs 10.6, similar to your furbaby. We like his size because he's not so small that we're fearful when he jumps on the furniture and he loves playing rough.

| Big house dog ![]() That rubs me the wrong way. I have a 40 lb dog and she isn't even THAT big. I don't understand why people get so worked up over the size of their yorkie, people have in their minds that a yorkie is so tiny and petite. Don't you read the reads about all the troubles and heartache the tinies can bring. You should be happy your dog is going to be a GOOD SIZE and you won't be worrying about this and that with him as much as the people who have the very small yorkies. Your guy will be able to go for a walk for a LONGER TIME, jump on and off your couch without worry and you won't be worried about him getting hurt. He isn't even going to be CLOSE to a BIG HOUSE DOG. If you want to be guaranteed a size get an adult. |

| YT Addict | Don't worry too much about Munchie's size... even if he is bigger you'll still love him anyway, right?

| Got a 14lbs one here, and she seems small to me. Still easy to pick up and carry if danger is lurking though. |

| That's a great way to resolve the ever-present concern about size! Thanks for puttting it out there.

| As long as you can feel the Yorkie's ribs without too much fat around them you are a okay with the size. I can tell that Bernie at 9 pounds doesn't get around as well as Baxter at 7 lbs and Bella at 5 lbs. But Bernie has larger bones than the other two and Bella is smaller boned than the two boys. You can tell if your dog is getting too fat. Bernie could stand to loose a little and he could run and keep up with the other two a little better. I'm sure you don't have a problem!

| We have Laddy who at 4 months weighed 2lbs and now at 9 months weighs 3.6 lbs and I wish he would put on some weight. He seems so tiny and frail. Then we have Lolita who is 5 years old and weighs 4.2 lbs and feels like a tiny little butterball when you pick her up lol. I thought when I got Laddy that he would be at least 5 lbs and was a little disappointed even though I love him like crazy he is a constant worry because he thinks he is superdog. It is funny when you look at them though because Laddy is taller he looks like he weighs more.
