| I am so sorry....i live in FL and here we have Buffo toads, I dont know if you have them where you are but I almost lost my lil Mackie to one and the symptoms were almost the same.No foaming at the mouth, nothing except the runs and then she went limp. Also, I read you took them to the beach....my male Duncan got very very sick a couple weeks ago and I almost lost him to bad runs and bloody stools. My vet could not figure it out bc I have him w me always. Then I mentioned he loves to go in the pool w me. We have a salt water pool and he said its very likely the salt water started a chain reaction in Duncan. he felt there was a virus in the water (not effecting humans) and because he was so lil, he couldnt fight it and that turned into hemmoraggic gastritis. It was awful! I dont know if any of this is helpful but just fyi. Again, Im so so sorry for your loss. you and your wife will be in my prayers.

| Littlebit Thanks for the link. We have already emailed and something might work out. Also, she had links to other reputable breeders in the area and one of those might pan out. |

| I am sorry for your lost. I also wish you had done a neocropsy to rule out disease's (especially since you have the brother) and if you are thinking about bringing in a new dog. I know this is a difficult thing to do but I feel it is very important to do this to protect your other dog if one dies for no apparent reason. Again, I know how tough it is to lose a little one and I am sorry.

| Keeping my fingers crossed that you find the perfect little playmate for Buster. Hope you and your wife will share pictures of Ginger when you feel up to it, and also any of your new one! Still keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

| Last post on Ginger All: Well it has been a week plus since the untimely, unexplained, death of our 19 month old female Yorkie. I and my wife want to thank this forum and the moderators for your suggestions and prayers. We did not often post here, but we would check in from time to time and perform searches for information about raising Yorkies. Our other yorkie (Buster) has adjusted very well to the sudden loss of his sister. He was not eating to well for the first couple of days, but his appetite returned quickly, as well as his usual playfullness. Our five year old Maine Coon cat (Tiger) has stepped up to the plate and is alot more playful with Buster than before, so he still has a playmate. After prayer and reflection, we have decided not to acquire another Yorkie at this time. Our first impulse was to run right out and get another dog, but we need to let some time pass. We'll see how it goes. Again, thanks to all. |
