| Yuriy Ivanovich,s personal hygeine problem Well our young bhoy is now nearly 10 weeks old and, touch wood we are absolutely delighted with his overall demeanor, nature and his attempts to toilet in his appointed place (except for a couple of daily accidents)! Since I have never owned a Yorkie before I,m looking for a bit of help/advice. Quite often (couple of times a week) bits of pooh seem to get stuck to his rear end, amongst his hair, which neccesitates me washing his rear end. Is this quite common (please don,t laugh) and would getting the hair on his bottom shaved when next at the vets sort the problem out? I think he,s quite embarrased about it so am typing this when he has gone to bed for the night His stools are perfectly formed, firm and no trace of worms etc. |

| Get him trimmed in that area. This is a common problem. Diaper wipes are good to use also.

Another quickie, if I may? When we got him at 7 weeks he weighed in at 1Kg050gms = 2,31 1bs. Now he is at 10 weeks 1Kg300gms = 2,861 1bs. Our fella seems a bit bigger than most on here! For a pup, he gets tons of excercise(indoors of course), pure water (bottled) and no other food than his Orijen, broken up into smaller bits than comes bagged. Last Friday at vets she was delighted with him. Could European dogs be bigger than our American Cousins?

Yorkies come in all sizes, some are bigger, some are smaller! I am sure theres tiny tiny ones out in Europe! just under 3 lbs right now isn't bad, it is much easier to care for one if they are a little bigger. I also recommend trimming the hair on his bottom! We completely shave Stormy's bottom and she doesn't have any issues. Before she would get some stuff and you could tell it was embarassing or uncomfortable! My moms yorkie will move her tail stubby to the side and bark at her to wash her bum lol

| Recommend trimming, too. Use baby wipes for sensitive skin to wipe their 'diddles' after they pee.

| I shave Curly's butt a couple times a month. No more butt boogers I think these Yorkies are mysterious on the size issue. You just never know. Everyone has a theory but in reality, they grow as big as THEY see fit. No matter how much or little you feed, exercise, or hope. I bet he's perfect just as he is!
