| Congrats on your new Yorkie Boy!!! It will take some time for him to get used to you. Maybe a few months.. so be patient. What type of food are you feeding him? You may consider gradually "weaning" him to a diffferent food. A good diet with a quality food will help with the weight issue. I will have to look, but there is a website you can go to with the rating of dogfood.Again, congrats on your little guy!!!!

| YT 500 Club Member | Thanks! Yea the lady said she was feeding him Purina Little Bits. I did the grading chart on here and it got a 48, so I'm definatley gonna switch him off gradually. He doesn't seem to interested in it. He will walk buy and smell it and he'll take treats but he doesn't really eat it. Except if you put a treat in the bottom. He will eat to pick it out. But if you try to cover the other treats up he growls

| YT 500 Club Member | I have a question real quick. Will he ever stop following me? If I change rooms he has to change with me and I feel so bad because he is usually asleep on the couch. If I go upstairs he wont follow me because we haven't showed him the upstairs yet. I just feel so bad because I move rooms so much. He will check on my other family members but he is pretty much my shadow other than that. He just stayed in the family room because my mom is in there. Lol, yesterday on the walk he wouldn't move untill we were walking right together because he was affraid we would leave her behind. Sometimes when he is in the same room with her and me he as to have her come outside too. Anyways! Is he just still getting used to his new surroundings? He was just sitting on my dads lap but he was looking at me like, where did you go?

| Congrats on the new fur son! When we got Maximus he was very skinny too and it turned out that he had hookworms and just not enough to eat. He weighed in at 6 lbs. and is now a healthy 12 lbs. From my experience it takes time and a lot of love to make them forget the past. As for the food aggression that might be b/c he's really hungry but you also can show him that he is the last to get food by simulating to eat from his food and let kitty eat too and then he gets it. This way you can establish a pack order he will respect... |

| Just give him sometime to get into you and your routine. From what it sounds like he was used for breeding and was not socialized or even bonded with anyone at all. As he feels more secure with you and your family he won't be such a velcro pup. Once he's neutered and you get him on a good dog food he'll be less food aggresive and hungry all the time. Just give him lots of love and time and he'll forget his past and will become a relaxed boy. Congratulations.... ![]() ![]()
