Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() You've already been advised to take someone with you. I would suggest also, any dog you may bring home to quarantine them for a couple of weeks. Many of the dogs I've taken in with rescue have either coccidia, guardia, fleas....you name it...lots of things you don't want to bring home! Good luck!!!

| ![]() I hope you are including all the new, assumed vet costs in that "free" price tag. These kennel kids are some hard core messes in most cases. Also, emotionally, are you ready to deal with what may be in front of you? What if these are dogs who spent all their lives in the little cage and can't stand to be touched? What if they do that running in circles business? What if they are depressed? Just things to think about when it comes to getting "freebies" from mills...er, uh, kennels. If you do go get one or more dogs from this lady, I wish you all the best and hope everything is legit. |

| ![]() Wow, I'd like to think positively and hope that this is just what it seems to be. Is there anyway that you can get her vet information and call them to verify that she has yorkies and that they've been taken care of and so on and so on? Good luck and I hope it is what it seems to be!

| ![]() Hope everything turns out okay! Last year my Mia had a litter of 6 and my grandmother had told my that her neighbor of more than 50years had recently lost her german shephard and that she was getting ready to look for a new puppy. Knowing how much her neighbor had loved and taken care of her last dogs. I asked my grandmother would she like for me to give her one of my puppies as a thank you for being such a great neighbor and friend for the past 50 years. Now a year later I am able to see the joy that HERBIE has brought to an older womans life. All I asked of her was that she let me visit Herbie and her when ever I went to visit my grandmother. Was one of the best decisions I have ever made. That little guy is extremely spoiled... and travels with her everywhere she goes... bottom line.... There are free yorkies out there for those special people in this world ![]()

| ![]() I got jumped on for saying people believe everything they read and hear, so I will not say that. What I will say is what everyone else has said...nothing is free in life! IF there are any yorkies, I will bet they are a mess. What I am going to suggest is that you tell her to meet you in a public place. I would not be going anywhere to pick up a free yorkie...or two. No way, no how. Forget taking someone with you....just do not go! Unless you plan to take the police! ![]()

YT Addict | ![]() I would not meet them anywhere, if it was a puppy mill you need to see what you are getting. More likly a dog that has never seen other people and been in a crate it's life. I hope not but that is what you can run into. And you may think "I can give alot of love and the dog will be fine." Alot of the puppy mill dogs never are fine, it sticks with them forever. I got a yorkie from a breeder and she was fine with me but you could tell somewhat scared. The breed would not let me in the gate that went to her kennels, but you could see some of the dogs, she had building with doggie doors, so my thought they are at least not in crates and never let out. What I did not know is that Maggie the yorkie had never seen any other people in her life!!! I have had her for 2 years she has lived in my home and loves me but is still scaried of my husband and 2 kids. Will run around the world to stay away from them. So if you are looking for a family pet to love and take places with you, do not get a dog that is scared and has not been around people. If these was good Yorkies, she could sell them, the free thing tells me they are scared, crated dogs. You will have vet bills becuase they have not been taken care of more like. I say all this with the more like because that is what I think it will be, just be careful. But I do hope that is not the way it is. Good luck let us know. |

Again I remind people about the people who were robbed or murdered because they answered classified ads. You cannot be too careful. And...if there are yorkies...I can almost bet they are going to cost a lot of money in vetting. Nothing is free in life.

| ![]() I am hoping that you get to adopt a beautiful Yorkie. Look deep before falling in love with the pups. Please take some pictures for us if you adopt a Yorkie from this breeder and fill us in on how you chose your puppy. ![]() Last edited by JoshieBoy; 06-23-2009 at 09:52 PM. |
