| I think you all are being too suspicious....What's wrong with writing a book and soliciting stories. It happens all the time. Since I am not planning my own book of Yorkie stories, I have no problem sharing... |

I think it's the way she/he presented the idea that just doesn't sit right (with others too based on their answer). I think a little more professionalism is in tow. You can't just go into a forum and claim certain things with not much details AND grammar errors! After all she/he's asking for material to publish a book that will gain her money....no? Or is the book for free? I can't answer that now can I since he/she NEVER said. Heck while we're at it...I'm a famous artist and Michael Angelo has nothing on me I just never told you guys cos I didn't think y'all would believe me Last edited by Guccimom; 06-12-2009 at 08:12 PM.

| Well, I hope she/he does make $$ on a book. If it is a scam, which I doubt, what have I lost? |

| Ah, you are the famous artist! Of course I believe you -- this is the internet and you can be anything you want. Myself, I am leaning towards international intrigue, maybe a secret agent...or a pet detective,,, I haven't quite decided! It is good to keep a sense of humor no matter what profession one chooses though!

| The problem is this is a newbie - we know nothing about this person. If it was someone who had built a relationship with other members it might be very different. Also, the statement was very broad - what is the criteria for the book? Also, if people are going to co-author a book who makes the money on it. I just went to a book party - more than 30 people co-authored a business book, the money from the book will help fund a specific business program. This person gave us no info - and most of us have been taken or seen others taken here on YT

Please, if you are going to be suspicious, that's fine. Just be polite about it.

You are free to share all the stories you want - as was already pointed out, that is what happens on YT. I just would hate to think someone would turn other people's posts into a book without their permission or knowledge - and yes, I know she did not say that she would do that. I'm very trusting too - but I have learned a few things online

| I believe in trust but I do not believe in blind trust. That is why I asked her what the name and publisher of her books were. No answer was forthcoming. No wait, she did give a very vague, "my books are romance" answer. So, she read my questions, but either could not or would not answer. I was trying to keep an open mind even though the writing in her posts does not really reflect literary expertise. All we really have to go on is how and what a person writes. I can't really take one without the other. I usually click on the "show other posts from this member" button and read through a few. That gives me an idea of how and what they write. Then I have more to decide whether or not to have trust in what they are saying. I hope others did the same with me when I was new. We are way past the age of blind trust. I am not sure if she is writing a book or not. The first post seems to insinuate that when she says, "I'm putting together some material and I am a author (sic) with two published books. " The post title itself, saying, "Do you want the world to know..." seems to suggest some wider circulation. But then she writes, "no to post on here..." after I actually was asking if her two books were self-published. Not sure if she misunderstood or what, but it seems to be answering she does not plan to put our stories in a book.

| She might have problems using spell-check because of the pop-up blocker. If I don't remember to turn it off, I lose the message. |
