| I have to leave Rupert for a while :( I recently got my pup, about a week ago. I just got notified that I am deploying, so I will have to go to 2 months of combat training, then 6 months gone for the deployment. By the time I leave Rupert he will only be about 4 months old, and having only spent about two months with me, and will be a year old when I come back.. So I will be leaving him with my parents while I am gone. He will have plenty of fun up there im sure, they have another dog and two cats, and Rupert loves everyone, but I feel like he is going to forget me while I am gone. Not a whole lot I can do about it though. Hopefully he will remember me and be happy when I come home |

| Oh, I am so sorry for you! Spend as much time with him as you can before you go and he will be super excited to see you when you get back. Maybe someone else with chime in who has been through this. I also want to say that I greatly admire you for your service and appreciate all of the sacrifices that you make. Hugs!! |

| That's too bad for both of you. Your very lucky to have parent's who will care for him in your absence. At least you didn't have to give him up. God bless you and keep you safe. Rubert will be fine and all grown up when you return. Lucky you not to have to go through potty training. Be safe, |

| I'm so happy to hear you have someone to leave him with while you're deployed. I just saw your post on the other thread about having a rescue and thought how amazing your story was that you found him right here in Tulsa! I'm sure he will remember you, just make sure your parents take lots of pictures because they change a lot during those months. I'd like to also thank you for your service. I have great admiration and respect for our men & women in the military. Thank you!

| So sorry you have to leave you new furbaby to go overseas and fight someone else problems, please keep safe and stay healthy so when you return all will be well. I was hoping the Oboma would have pulled out of their, and brought everyone home. I know Canada is talking about pulling out in 2010 not soon enough. Too many innocent young people are being killed for no reason. Thank you for being there for your country.

| First and foremost, thank you for serving our country. My experience tells me he will remember you. I took my Sammy home to Alabama and we went to visit the people we got Sammy from. Sammy wiggled, SMILED, and was so happy to see his first "parents". I believe there is a bond there that will never be broken, your Rubert should be the same way.

| Spend as much quality time with him as you can before you deploy, & I'll bet when you return it will be like you were never gone. It's good that he has a nice place to stay while you are away. Best wishes, & thanks for your service, from a very old soldier.
