First and foremost, thank you for serving our country. My experience tells me he will remember you. I took my Sammy home to Alabama and we went to visit the people we got Sammy from. Sammy wiggled, SMILED, and was so happy to see his first "parents". I believe there is a bond there that will never be broken, your Rubert should be the same way.
