| Not to be rude, but if you are looking for the look of a doberman, why not look into Min Pins? They have the look without the size. Before we got Allie, it was a tossup between a Min Pin or a Yorkie for our household. Of course, Allie took the cake when I first met her!! Just a suggestion

If you are going for just the look than I agree however the temperament of the breeds are totally different. To be honest, I dont think I could live with a MinPin!! Can you say Napoleon Complex?!!? lol A German Pinscher is also a great alternative. They have a very similar temperament to a Dobe and are only about 40lbs. | |

My brother had a mini pinscher a while back and he was a fun dog so it is definitely a possibility for me. I have actually had a really hard time finding mini pin and german pinscher breeders in california to contact, but I'll keep searching so I can get more info..

I have had a really hard time finding german pinscher breeders, especially in California. I like the fact that these dogs are smaller than dobermans but I've heard they are rare so I'm worried about the price.

Another question...you wouldn't think a female yorkie and a female doberman would have issues with each other, right? My yorkie is fixed, and I would want to get another female dog rather than a male.
