| Look what I found on Craigs List, my area! fem. yorkie (fresno) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: 2009-06-03, 8:34AM PDT she is about 14 mos.......all shots...AKC......but she is not a small yorkie, weighs about 7lbs.......her hair is very long..... i need to re-home her before we move. Location: fresno it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests PostingID: 1203222450 I sent this person an email. I asked her how old her yorkie is, and how soon she needs to rehome her. I also asked her how much the rehoming fee is. what gets me is that she is actually perfect size for a yorkie> I don't understand why she can't take her baby with her though That is very difficult for me to understand. I hope I might be able to have her Would this be a hard adjustment for my little Suzi? they would be nearly the same age! And both females. What are some things thatI ought to be aware of before considering , a bringing home a 14 month old little girl? Suzi is 15months. I am at home virutally all the time, so I can moniter them .

| If you current Yorkie loves other dogs then I say go for it. I just recently added a new puppy to the mix. So take what I think however you want to because, like I said, i just recently added to my family and I am by no means any expert. But, Jack is still unsure and tends to be a tad bit jealous. But I know in time he will get over it. I also found that i am having a hard time adjusting to spending time with two pups instead of just the one. But so far it has been rewarding. I knew Jack loved other dogs so that is why I went for it. If he didn't, and trust me I would know since I take him to the dog park, I wouldn't have even dreamed of it. I hope which ever way you decide to take that it is for the best.

| As most of you Know we just got Lolita, she is 5 years old and same size almost as Laddy. We have had no issues with them so far. They play together all the time. Eat and drink and sleep together. I say go for it. It's so nice for them to have a playmate. I like you am home all the time but I felt like Laddy needed a friend with more energy than mama.

| If you go and visit the pup before getting her, maybe take Suzi along with you and see their initial reaction. I think the ways pups act the 1st time they meet can say a lot!! Some dogs come right up to Snick others don't. When they back away, I always make sure Snickers does not get closer. Then I know they are not compatible at 1st glance. Best of luck to you...I hope it works out!!

| When we went to pick up Lolita last week she completely ignored Laddy at first. They get along great now. Sometimes it just takes a little time for them to warm up to each other. I will say though Laddy is a male and Lolita a spayed female.

| I would say go for it. From my experience they just need a bit time to get used to each other. What really helps is when they meet the first time on a place where they both are not used to. It is also important that you establish right from the beginning that you are the boss and pack leader for both. Oh... and I think it's very positive that the lady said that her girl is "not a small Yorkie" and was not talking about tea cups which is a red flag in such a situation. There are many situations where you might not be able to take your dog for example when you move to Great Britain or Hawaii (well... you can if you want to wait out the 6 months of quarantine in an uncertain environment...) | I have two girls and they are 2 1/2 mos apart in age and it has worked out well. I like that they are close in age, same energy levels, going thru the same stages together, things like that make it easier on them and me. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't do it, but I have always just brought the new dog home to meet the rest of the group and have never had a bad experience, at the beginning or later. Just thought I would let you know. |

| The woman is moving to Texas. She wants quite a bit to rehome her Yorkie right now. She sent me an email and said she is leaving on Sunday, and needs a home before that time. She has a family emergency . I let her know to please be careful who you rehome her baby to , and if she still needed a placement , to get in contact with me . I left her my phone number. I would love to have her ! however, it is a wait and see time right now. I hope she considers me though. And just does not take the first person wo comes along without being careful.

| My Harley was the one & only yorkie in our family for 8 years, when I brought in 10 week old Scooter. For the first two weeks Harley growled at him and would move away if Scooter got near him. By week three Harley tolerated Scooter and after that they were inseparable. It's been a year now and they play, run, sleep and eat together. Rarely do you see one without the other! They are different in age and size (Harley is 16.2 lbs and Scootie is 5.2 lbs.) but best of buddies. I also recently brought home a 6 year old female, Rita (rehomed from Airzona three weeks ago). She's not playing with the boys yet but sleeps on the couch next to them. Don't go on first reactions alone, if I had I wouldn't have three! Once they realize there's still enough toys, food, and love to go around, everything else works itself out. Good Luck to you.

| Well, I have not heard from the people regarding this little girl. I will post something if I do though. Thanks for the good wishes on this rehoming possibility.
