| Will she think i abandoned her? I am leaving Coral for 10 days while i visit family in PA. She is staying with a friend who has a yorkie (they get along great), but i feel awful for leaving her. I have done this trip for since i was 4, almost 23 years now, and it is the only time i getto see my mom and sisters. I have never left a one of my dogs this young though, she is 6 months. Do you think that she will think that i abandoned her? or will she just be happy to see me when i get back??

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | We left our rescue for a week last month, we were afraid she'd bolt out the door while we were gone to look for us. She did that right after we got her when we went to a wedding. We haven't had her a year yet, we left her home with our daughter. She's the only one she's even tried to get close to besides hubby and I. She did just fine other than some pouting and she bonded with our daughter even more. She and the cat put on a circus for us when we got home running around and jumping over each other's backs. They were happy to see us I guess.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Our daughter felt bad because she wasn't eating much after we left. So she shared her people food with our Yorkie. Ummmmm.....yeah now she begs a bit. I would just about promise there will be some spoiling going on while you're gone. LOL

| I worry about how I"M going to survive without my babies! hahaha! Lol! I think you will be fine! I'm trying to plan a trip home to Minnesota for a week or so and I keep trying to shorten it because I think I'll just miss my munchies so much! But I'll bring them lots of presents to make up for me being gone. I think dogs adjust so well that as long as they are being loved on and cared for that they will miss you but will pick right back up from where you left! Have fun on your trip!

| Don't you worry about a thing, we left Snickers for 6 days when he was 6 months old and when we came back, he came charging at us so happy to see us...it was the sweetest thing ever!! My husband and I were so shocked about how much we were discussing Snickers during our whole vacation and how much we missed him!!! We kept bringing up all the cute and naughty things he does, and we would immitate his barks to each other, we are so very in love with him...yes, we're nuts!

| I hate leaving my Yorkster alone but sometimes you have to do it. Just think of the joy when you can smother your yorkie with kisses when you return. |

| I usually leave Chase with my parents. He loves it there since my mom is home all the time. I think I probably deal with it a lot worse than he does. Your little one will be just fine and will be so happy to see you again!

YT 1000 Club Member | I know how hard it is to leave. I go through the same thing. I can't stop thinking about her when we're gone. My kids (3 are adults now) think I'm crazy for calling to check on the dog. I think the 13 year old feels slided. It's just that they aren't as little and helpless anymore like Roxie is . Anyway your lucky you have a friend to watch who also has a yorkie. That gives your baby a playmate plus someone with a love and understanding of the breed to be watching. I don't think they ever forget an owner who loves them so much!!

| She will be fine! I spent last week in Vegas away from Teddy so he stayed with my parents. I was worried about the same thing but when I got to him he was sooooo excited! My mom said that Teddy didn't miss a beat! My parents have a boston terrier so I think it helps having another animal around! |

| She will be fine! It's definitely harder on US than them. Jackson was 4 months old when I left him for 4 nights in February. He stayed with my mom & stepdad and their dog. I left a full page instruction on what to do w/ him, lol. My mom thought I was nuts. I called twice a day to check in. He did totally fine! He was very excited to see me! I left him again at the age of 6 months to go to South Carolina for 4 nights and again, he did wonderful! Also, I think they will always remember you... I watched a special (think it was Dog Whisperer) about the Hurricane Katrina dogs and they found this one dogs owner after months and months of being apart and the dog was SO excited to see the owner!

I agree that they always remember you! I also watched the hurricane katrina thing and was amazed how the dog reacted when it was reunited with its owner! So amazing! Your baby will miss you but be oh so happy when you return! It's a great feeling =) | |
