We left our rescue for a week last month, we were afraid she'd bolt out the door while we were gone to look for us. She did that right after we got her when we went to a wedding. We haven't had her a year yet, we left her home with our daughter. She's the only one she's even tried to get close to besides hubby and I. She did just fine other than some pouting and she bonded with our daughter even more. She and the cat put on a circus for us when we got home running around and jumping over each other's backs. They were happy to see us I guess.
