It's definitely harder on US than them. Jackson was 4 months old when I left him for 4 nights in February. He stayed with my mom & stepdad and their dog. I left a full page instruction on what to do w/ him, lol. My mom thought I was nuts. I called twice a day to check in. He did totally fine! He was very excited to see me!
I left him again at the age of 6 months to go to South Carolina for 4 nights and again, he did wonderful!
Also, I think they will always remember you... I watched a special (think it was Dog Whisperer) about the Hurricane Katrina dogs and they found this one dogs owner after months and months of being apart and the dog was SO excited to see the owner! |
Haha it's so funny the way we treat these adorable dogs! Just like children! I also called several times a day to check on Teddy and even brought him back 2 Las Vegas dog shirts so he wouldn't feel left out =)
I agree that they always remember you! I also watched the hurricane katrina thing and was amazed how the dog reacted when it was reunited with its owner! So amazing!
Your baby will miss you but be oh so happy when you return! It's a great feeling =)
