| I attempted to tape Chase's ears once, but it wasn't worth all the trouble. I love his floppy ears. It gives him character .

| I don't think its genetic.....I saw the parents and grand parents of my Yorkie and their ears were up and all were under 7 pounds. Annies were taped up several tiimes, didn't stay up and are now tipped over. She is 13 pounds at 4 years old. The breeder could not believe it, and she is not a fat dog. I have her pedigree from AKC and know the breeder thru other Yorkie owners. It just happens sometimes, but I could not love her more, bigger or smaller, ears up or down, she's my baby !!!

| I shaved Cookie's ears and they stayed up afterwards. I never had to tape them or nothing I did this when Cookie was a puppy. I'm not sure how old your Yorkie is but if your baby is older I'm not sure if this will work.

I don't think 10 weeks is too early for ears to stand. Missy's have always been erect and so were her littermates. I tend to believe it is genetics.

| When we went to get Laddy his brother from same litter was there his ears looked like the ears on the Taco bell dog..str8 up and huge Laddy had those adorable small floppy ears and I loved them and like another OP I joined YT and saw what breed standard puppies looked like so I to started asking and got great advice. The shaving the top 3rd and taping. Also like someone said the taping was a waste he just rubbed his head till he got it off but after just a few days from when we shaved them his ears came up and stayed up.

| YT 2000 Club Member | Tucker isnt pure yorkie but I know if I had his ears shaved they would stand, cause on a occasion when he has tilted his head just right his ears have popped up for a few seconds, however they are HUGE... like he could fly away if the wind was just right HUGE. .. I love his floppy ears. He has so much expression in his face that his floppy ears are a added bonus. I can understand why some want thier yorkies ears to stand, it is the standard and they look so darn cute with thier little button ears.

| We have one of each. Bailey is our girl who is 9.5 pounds & her ears are up all the time (except when she's made or in trouble). Buster's ears are HUGE and are not up all the time (he's 11.5 pounds). My User ID picture is from when they were 6 months old & both their ears perked up when I was attempting to take a pictire & I was lucky enough to get the shot! I think they were about 4 1/2 months old before their ears came up. I did not use anything to change their ears, just kept them free of "extra" hair (we groom them at home).

| I think Kayla was born with hers up. lol!!! Dudley has one up and one down. He is 4mo. old and the shape of his little face and coloring, I don't know, but, I think he would be darling with his little ears down. I'm just not going to worry about it. He has the black and silver full little face that makes him look so sweet with them down. Being their mom I would love them any ole' way. lol!!!! |

| I have never done a thing to my Yorkie's ears and they stand. He had one floppy one for quite a while and looked so cute, but it finally stood up. I think he was probably 6 mos. or so. I can't quite remember. |
