I can understand why people want their Yorkies ears to stand up. The AKC describes the Yorkshire Terrier's ears as "Ears are small, V-shaped, carried erect and set not too far apart", so it is this breeds standard.
I don't think 10 weeks is too early for ears to stand. Missy's have always been erect and so were her littermates. I tend to believe it is genetics.
