How do you feel about greenies?

I watch SNoodles really carefully when she is eating the Greenies! I tried the little bits, but she doesn't chew them--hence, no good benefit to the teeth. I will hold the piece of Greenie and she will bite off little pieces and also chew on it. I think it's the greatest thing there is for good teeth.

I dont have any problems with them because my dogs dont really chew on them. I dont know why when everyone elses seem to go crazy with them. Its just like any other chew treat you have to watch them.

I will never give my dogs greenies. A woman just posted on the "Next Day Pets" Forum that her Pom died yesterday morning. She had the vet do a autopsy and he found a piece of greenie stuck in her throat...it was the Lil ones. Apparently a lot of dogs have died from them. I just won't chance it. As you can see though, a lot of people are happy with them. It is up to each individual to decide for themselves.

Poor thing.. So the pom had the Lil Bits lodged in it's throat? That would been impossible unless it was A LOT of pieces bc they're SUPER small. I'm guessing that there is just a small size greenie? If the pom did pass away bc it had the lil bits caught in it's throat the owner must have fed her the whole bag.. Do you have the link?

I had a beautiful Pomeranian She was a champion and doing very well with agility. I had been giving her greenies for the past 7 - 8 months with no adverse results. Last Thursday I gave her a greenie (petite size) I Found her on the carpet at 745 not moving but still warm I tried sucking on her snout and mouth and the heimlich procedure with no success. I rushed her to the Dog traning facility hoping that one of the more knowledgeable people could help but it was too late.. The next day our vet performed an autopsy and found a wad of greenie in her esophagous. She had choked to death very quickly. My message to all of you is to beware of this product.

mine love them and we got some in the gift exchange. I am careful that once they've chewed it down to much, I'll take it away from them. Just don't want to take any chances.

That poor woman.. I couldn't imagine finding my baby like that.. But I was right in thinking that she gave hers a small size greenie. This kind I use is called "Lil Bits Greenies" .. They're like little tid bits and he gets them maybe 2 at a time and he gets them when he does tricks!

Gucci doesn't like the greenies too much. She chews on them for a bit and then looses interest on them. I even stop buying them. I have the lil bits also, I still have half a bag so im going to try them again.
Im so sorry about the lady whose pom died. When i give Gucci a petite size chew bone I always watch her.

OMG! Is nothing safe for our babies? She loves her greenie, and as I said, I cut the petites into four pieces. Even though I watch her very closely, now I am scared to death. Remember when I had to run her to the vet with a piece of rawhide stick stuck in her throat? That was horrific and I don't ever want to go through that again! Gosh, things can happen sooooo quickly!

I feed Stewie the Petite Size and Regular Size Greenies. I love them and so does he.

All of my dogs love them and we havent had any problems, EXCEPT making sure they keep them and Sky doesn't get them all
