No you are not a horrible mother. Mollie will not let me do hers, she tries to bite me. I make sure she has greenies a couple times a week and some other things to chew on to help keep her teeth clean. She just had 2 baby teeth extracted she is 19 months old and they didn't have to clean her teeth just the extraction. I am going to start brushing her teeth at least every couple of days whether she likes it or not. She will eventually get used to it. The only time that I took her to Petsmart for an actual grooming they did brush her teeth for me. Of course they charge more but they do it. I'm not sure if any other groomers do it or not.

| I brush their teeth - gotta love that beef flavored toothpaste (EEEeeeww!!). Don't worry, you're not a bad mother. I had no idea you were supposed to do this untill Biddy was about 10 months old! Who knew?? We never brushed my dog's teeth when I was growing up (then again, that explains his horrible breath!). I have a Winnie the Pooh kid's toothbrush that I use & beef flavored toothpaste that I got at Petsmart. It's not too hard to do, just lift up their lips(?) and brush away. Wait until you see the crap that comes off - it's gross!!! Good luck

| I brush Maximus' teeth everyday since I brought him home from the breeder...and I use toothwipes...a woman in the park commented that maximus had some of the whitest teeth she has ever seen...lol, he didn't like it at first but he has gotten used to it and it is part of our morning ritual...brush teeth and hair then walk!!!

| I do! She likes the taste of the beef-flavored toothpaste, too! I've had to let up lately because she is teething right now and having quite a time with it, too.

| I do brush Stomper's teeth, or I should say "at least" try too! It is not easy to do when you have a hyper little one! I actually got Stomper's toothpaste from the vet. Poultry flavor (yuk!). Stomper does like the taste so I just try to move it around his teeth. Again...I try to but I am sure I am not doing a good job! Vets will certainly take this burden away from you. I'm sure they will also do a much better job too!

| Yes, groomers can brush their teeth, and vets too. But the vets can charge a fortune for it. I haven't brushed Deegan's teeth yet, but I just bought a kit so that I can attempt it this weekend. I have a feeling it's not going to be easy, but it has to be done, so wish me luck!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | I didn't for the first year of his life but started after getting advice from YT members. I started with tooth cleaning pads, and he fought me the whole way. I bought a couple finger brushes and some petrodex poultry flavored toothpaste, and he loves it. It's still a struggle because he doesn't like me brushing the back teeth, but he slurps it up like it's candy.

| I do...I take a piece of gauze wet it and put on some doggie toothe paste on it and rub all his teeth giving him a break now and then. My Vet recommended doing it this way cause he was fighting me when I used the toohbrush. It works out good. Terry & Moxie |

| I use a fingertip brush. My dogs still fight me but I have found it easier with a fingertip brush rather than a regular brush.
