| ![]() I believe victoria has had 2 episodes with yorkies (that i have seen) and they were both in england so that means they are older episodes...becuase she's in america now.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I like them both. Watch reruns over & over. Have learned so much from both. I have noticed that Cesar doesn't do dog obedience as we know it. But he's called on (& so are a lot of trainers to fix problems) not for general dog obedience. There's a difference. Don't want to give up either Cesar or Victoria.

| ![]() My whole family loves to watch Victoria's show. She is awesome! I wasn't the least bit interested in watching the Greatest American Dog TV show until I heard Victoria was going to be a judge. Once I heard she was going to be on it, I didn't miss an episode! I have tried some of her training methods on Zoe and she really responds to it. I've tried some of Cesar's too; but didn't really work for us too well.

| ![]() I am a fan of both but if I had to choose one it would be ceasar all the way. I do think ceasar's method works better with medium to large dogs just because he can apply his methods easier(did you guys see the yorkie episodes? boy all I can say is he earned his keep those times ![]() and victoris methods work better with the medium to small but it takes so long to retrain them with her method and ceasar comes in and boom their changed and all you have to do is maintain what he started. I love them both but I loved victoria more before we americanized her ![]()

WRT to the speed of Cesar's methods, I was actually thinking about this today because I bought a skateboard for Thor. Thor despises skateboarders, and will actually run all the way across a park (and OUT) to snarl at one. He'll run in front of them and I'm afraid there's going to be a nasty dog / board / human accident at some point. Anyway, I started by putting the board out in the main room, then putting some treats on it, and then rolling it a bit before giving him some treats. All in all, I've spent about 10 minutes on it so far. I'll probably starting taking it outside to do 5 or 10 minutes over the next few weeks until he's completely used to it. I remember Cesar did a show with a bulldog that hated skateboards, and he spent an entire day habituating the dog to them. So in one way, it only took one day, but in terms of total time spent training, I think it's about the same.

Sounds like a good idea what you're doing with the skateboard - I briefly remember seeing that episode. And you're last sentence is totally true. I think people get the wrong impression that Cesar just fixes everything in one day but that's just not it. If the owners don't continue using his methods and what he started with the dog... they're never going to get better. Dog Whisperer usually has a thing at the end that shows the owners after Cesar came to their house. Usually, the updates are all very much better but still have certain things to work on still.

| ![]() I've only seen a couple of Ceasar's shows but I have to say that I really like Victoria. I've used a few of her methods and they have worked very well.

| ![]() "I used to like Victoria till she started bad mouthing 'that other trainer and his 'pack' " methods on her show. Her training methods may not be right for every dog or owner. |

| ![]() I prefer Cesar. Victoria does all her training with treats. Which although effective, it doesn't necessarily solve all training issue. Most dogs will do anything you want them to do for a treat. Where as Cesar solves the dogs issues by identifying and changing the root of the problem. I think he's far more impressive. ![]() |
