I do think ceasar's method works better with medium to large dogs just because he can apply his methods easier(did you guys see the yorkie episodes? boy all I can say is he earned his keep those times )
and victoris methods work better with the medium to small but it takes so long to retrain them with her method and ceasar comes in and boom their changed and all you have to do is maintain what he started.
I love them both but I loved victoria more before we americanized her |
Yeah, I am hoping that as she gets more of a foothold in America, it will get back the UK magic. I get the impression that she is trying to be nicer to us Americans, and her sharp tongue is part of her charm.
WRT to the speed of Cesar's methods, I was actually thinking about this today because I bought a skateboard for Thor. Thor despises skateboarders, and will actually run all the way across a park (and OUT) to snarl at one. He'll run in front of them and I'm afraid there's going to be a nasty dog / board / human accident at some point.
Anyway, I started by putting the board out in the main room, then putting some treats on it, and then rolling it a bit before giving him some treats. All in all, I've spent about 10 minutes on it so far. I'll probably starting taking it outside to do 5 or 10 minutes over the next few weeks until he's completely used to it. I remember Cesar did a show with a bulldog that hated skateboards, and he spent an entire day habituating the dog to them. So in one way, it only took one day, but in terms of total time spent training, I think it's about the same.
