We all love our dogs irrespective of what the neighbours or anyone else says none of these little people are perfect but what makes it special is the personal bond we give to them, which they know and understand. I can walk to most Yorkies and have them eating from my hand

I am so sorry for your loss!! My heart breaks for you. I just lost one a month ago and I completely understand how you are feeling right now. Yes, please know you did the right thing. One issue my yorkie had was terrible gum disease. We only had him 3 years, but it progresses so fast and can cause severe infections, so you definatelly had to do this. So please don't second guess yourself even though I know it is hard not to. I am sure that you gave alot of love to your baby in the short time you had her and in the end that is what counts! Big hugs!!

I lost my Buddy earlier this year the EXACT same scenario. He was 9 and had slowly progressive renal disease, but I expected him to die of that and not anesthesia. I am so sad for you as it brings that terrible day back in my mind . Maybe someone can tell us what anesthesia does to this little dogs. Again, so sorry for your terrible loss of Olivia.

I know that nothing any of us can say will ease the hurt you are going through, but just know our hearts are aching and we are shedding tears for you. We lost our beloved Ruby last October 29th during a dental. I felt so very responsible. I had such a gut feeling that something would go wrong, but I knew she needed her teeth cleaned. (I've always been so careful to see that they don't get tooth disease.) She had her teeth cleaned a few years before without any problems, but this was a new vet. They did a Physical and said she was healthy. After she died, they told me that she had a bad heart, then told a friend of mine that she had bad lungs. I think they used too much anesthetic. She was only 3 lbs. 4 oz. Needless to say, when I got the call that she had expired, I told them to stop doing anything to my other baby and went and got her. We had Ruby cremated and she travels with us in her little carved wooden box. We miss her still. Last edited by ruby2sday; 05-09-2009 at 03:36 PM. Reason: Edit wording

My heart aches with you and I am so very sorry. I know of no words that can make it better. However, I pray you'll find just a little peace with these.... Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, but LOVE leaves a memory no one can steal.

So very sorry for your loss. My heart goes to you. I hope in time you'll be able to remember her through all the good times instead the pain you are experiencing now.
