We lost our beloved Ruby last October 29th during a dental. I felt so very responsible. I had such a gut feeling that something would go wrong, but I knew she needed her teeth cleaned. (I've always been so careful to see that they don't get tooth disease.) She had her teeth cleaned a few years before without any problems, but this was a new vet. They did a Physical and said she was healthy. After she died, they told me that she had a bad heart, then told a friend of mine that she had bad lungs. I think they used too much anesthetic. She was only 3 lbs. 4 oz.
Needless to say, when I got the call that she had expired, I told them to stop doing anything to my other baby and went and got her.
We had Ruby cremated and she travels with us in her little carved wooden box. We miss her still. |
I am so sorry about your Ruby...it is just so sad, trying to do what we know is best for them but then a tragedy happens. That sounds suspicious that they told you she had a bad heart, then tole someone else she had bad lungs...??? My vet offered to do an autopsy to see what the underlying cause was, but at the moment I was in such shock and couldn't even think straight so I said no. Have you had your other yorkie's teeth cleaned since then? I cannot imagine how I will ever be able to schedule a dental if I get another yorkie!
