| Anyone Use Clorox Green Cleaners? Are they Safe? I had purchased some Clorox GreenWorks Concentrated cleaner for the floors. Now I know, Clorox is a total bleach company lol.. but they made this new line of GreenWorks stuff that works great. I usually bleach my floors, but, after Gucci got sick the other day I wanted to try something less harsh.. as I was afraid that I may have made him sick maybe from him licking his paws? I bleach 2-3X's a week which may be excessive for a household with a small pet .. and I am ANAL about germs so I do put a good amount of bleach. Anyhow does anyone else use this or know if it's safe to use with animals? Thanks in Advance |

| TrevorForever - Right now, I have no Steam Mop Cash lol but I keep seeing people speak highly about it, so rest assured when I get some steam mop cash... I'm definately going to get one!! For now I think Clorox GreenWorks is the best I'm gonna get.. I really don't think soap and water works well enough, bleach seems to harsh and pinesol I think might be too harsh as well I wish pet stores sold something that worked and was Safe to use |

| Vinegar, Water, and Baking Soda cleans, neuralizes odor and is completely non toxic and safe...And, believe it or not, when the floor is dry, there is no trace of a vinegar smell and the floor is sanitary....Give it a whirl! Maggie & Apple p.s. bleach is not good for the environment (the sewers)...it stops the natural process of the breakdown of wastes |

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Depends if you want to kill germs or clean your floors? Nothing is better than bleach for killing germs. Bleach is safer than most people think, and the only residue left behind is tiny amount of salt. For killing germs, a solution of bleach mixed with water is perfectly safe, just don't add additives such as dishwashing detergent, because many contain ammonia, and mixing bleach and ammonia can cause deadly fumes. You don't want your dog walking in the bleach solution, and the floor should be dry before he's allowed back in the room. If you just want to clean your floors, vinegar and water is considered "green" and the vinegar is an acid so it cuts through oil, most dirt has some component of oil. You should be diligent about germs on kitchen counters, but I wouldn't worry about the floor. Most dogs can handle germs much better than humans; look how many eat their own poop! To kill germs with vinegar you pretty much have to use straight vinegar, not mixed with water, and that would kill 80 percent of the germs.

| I work for Clorox!! I can help with that! I work for Clorox! Greenworks are excellent cleaning products. But they current are NOT disinfecting. They essentially are filtered water, coconut (a natural surfactant), lemon oil and a very small amount of cornbased ethanol (less than 1%). They contain NO Bleach or Phosphorous. Quote:
Bleach is derived from Sodium Chloride (same as table salt). It's very reactive when exposed to air and quickly breaks down. It's biproducts are salt and water. Most people overuse bleach though. When mixing it with a gallon of water, you only need 3/4 of a cup of bleach to properly disinfect floors/counters etc.. It's actually suggested that you clean animal bowls and children's toys with 1 tbsp of bleach dissolved in 1 gallon of water. | |

YT 1000 Club Member | I want one...everytime I see a post with someone talking about the steam mop it makes me want one even more!!! I thought I might add that Clorox is making a new toilet bowl cleaner and it's called the Wand. I love that and it works great. No more icky toilet brush to deal with. It's all pretty much enclosed and you throw away the scrubber part after each use. Much better idea I think. Clorox.com - Clorox® ToiletWand™ System

| Thank you for all the responses! HoneyPaute - Thanks for that helpful info! I will be bleaching weekly and using the Clorox GreenWorks in between. I was so worried I was harming Gucci with the bleach but since it becomes inactive then I am pretty safe I think. Rhonda I am so off to big lots when I get paid!! maybe they will have one at the big lots here. |
