| hair band help i like to keep a bow on Chloe but in a matter of 2 days her fur becomes matted around it. I have bought an expensive Yorkie bow and some less expensive Yorkie bows and have the same problem with all. When i take her bow out it takes probably 15-20 minutes to gently work through the mat. I use a spray detangler but she still looses hair. The top of her head is getting sparce and i'm concerned. I really like the look with the bow but have to leave it off for now because i'm worried she will go bald. Suggestions? |

| You probably need to take it out every evening so it doesnt mat. Do you know what sz of a band you are using? How many times do you wrap it around? For Skittles I use a 3/16 band and wrap it twice. I fix her hair a few times a day as she is a rough and tuff kinda gal and it never stays pretty long. Maybe you could try those bands for lil girls, not the elastic ones, but they are soft and small. Some people have good luck with lil barrettes just be careful to keep an eye on her so when it does come out she doesnt want to play with it. How old is your yorkie? Hopefully someone else will have some suggestions. DaniBelle |

| I buy the latex bands in the hair department. They're clear with a colored part, so you can find them if they drop. I buy the one that has 2 different sizes. They come out everynight really easy. I just hold the top of the ponytail and pull some hair from underneath and as soon as it becomes loose the band comes right off...

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Hi ! My youngest Cheri's does this too though not as bad as what you described...and I found spraying a little Ice on Ice on her hair before putting in her bow really cuts down on the matts...Plus changing the bow everyday will help too. We just use Pet Edge Bows most of the time and they work really well |

| Buckeye's top knot was breaking off also and I found that I was putting it in too tight. I have to brush thru it daily or it will matt also. I brush both of mine every time i sit down. when i start brushing one, the other comes along and paws at my hand to get me to brush on them. Ever brush 2 at the same time? lol

| Adinas topknot does the exact same thing I tried different products and nothing works better than taking it out everyday and redoing it. Smiles, Myra |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | If you wore a pony tail and didn't comb it out everyday, your hair will tangle badly, too. Always brush and groom your dogs everyday. It will help with any tangles or mats and will brush the dirt away from their skin. Hope that this helps!
