Buckeye's top knot was breaking off also and I found that I was putting it in too tight. I have to brush thru it daily or it will matt also. I brush both of mine every time i sit down. when i start brushing one, the other comes along and paws at my hand to get me to brush on them. Ever brush 2 at the same time? lol
