| Before someone gets a dog tho.....they should be prepared to bring it in with their family....and let it live with them...and be a part of their lives....if that isn't the plan... then that person shouldn't have a dog.IMO Putting it on a chain in their backyard...is no life for a dog...

I think it's awful. We used to have a neighbor that did that. The dog was just constantly out on it's chain. I hardly saw them ever walk it. It would go inside at night but during the days... outside on the chain. What's the point of a dog?

Seriously, there are people who don't want, need, or shouldn't be allowed to have dogs or pets of any kind for that matter. I would never go up to them and tell them they should have a dog so they shouldn't tell me anything about having one either. Live and let live..... I know a woman who said she would never have a dog in her house. She said it would mess up her house. She has a meticulous house with never an item out of place, dirty, or damaged. But I prefer my home, with the throw rugs always pulled a little askew, a potty stain or two still visible even after scrubbing, and more than one piece of furniture with historical puppy teeth marks on the legs ..... and loving dogs that are each as unique as my own kids! Neither of us need to change the other.

Sleeping on the bed with a yorkie? that is a + not a negative. having a little dog right next to me to snuggle up with is comforting. As soon as she hears a strange noise she's there in a flash, protecting me from danger! That's a bad thing? NOT! as soon as the threat is over Suzi is right back with me, keeping me safe for the rest of the night. Than in the morning, she is waiting for me, no matter what time it is! She is always there! I get a face full of kissess! Every single morning !sweet kissess , to greet me, to say hello mom! she is so happy , and loves me unconditionally always . There is no griping, no complaining, no bitching, no sadness, no crying, always pure joy! This is what it is like to own a Yorkie. Those who are against having an inside dog are those missing out on the most pure love ever experienced . A dog always gives , gives and gives some more. My Suzi is this way. So much love and energy she has. She is a bundle of fun, and love. Yes, Suzi is a lot of work, and Yes, I worry about her all the time, because I love her so m uch. Just like I worry about my child. She is my heart. I never knew a little dog could have that affect on me. Suzi has done this , and I am so lucky to have her ! I feel like I have won the Jackpot everyday with having her! This is what it is like having her in my life! Nobody , or nothing would or could ever convince me of anything else. If someone offered me 2million dollars for her, I'd say hell NO!

| this is my first time owning dogs and i love it. honestly, it's a lot of work when you get them as puppies especially with potty training. but once that's over, they're a joy to have. i look forward to coming home after work and being greeted by my babies at the door.

| I have had two rescue dogs in the past. Both were young adults(1 & 2yrs old) and house broken when I got them. The years they gave me were loving ones. One lived to be 17 and one 16. Both I had to put down in the end. Then there's Buddy! Oh boy was he more than I bargained for. I never had a puppy. I was oblivious to their wants and demands. I was completely hooked before he showed me his true colors. It was too late to turn back so the two of us plowed threw puppy- hood together. It was stressful, he was determined to have things his way, I got sick with shingles for 6months from all the stress, I worked full time and finally got him over the terrible puppyhood stage and survived to talk about it. It was not easy, I can tell you that. After the first year things calmed down and so did I. It was truely worth every bit of the above in the end. Today he is well trained, obedient, trustworthy, loving and beautiful. When I think back I have to laugh, now that's it's over. I raised three kids and they were easier. They didn't potty in the house, or chew on my furniture, eat the sheets off the bed and the lights off my Christmas tree, chew the bottom out of my blue velvet chair in the living room or eat the corner's off of 13 throw rugs! Heck you either love dogs or you don't. You just gotta love Buddy |
