Literally what would I say to someone who said that, like that? ...... probably nothing at all ..... ever......!
Seriously, there are people who don't want, need, or shouldn't be allowed to have dogs or pets of any kind for that matter. I would never go up to them and tell them they should have a dog so they shouldn't tell me anything about having one either. Live and let live.....
I know a woman who said she would never have a dog in her house. She said it would mess up her house. She has a meticulous house with never an item out of place, dirty, or damaged. But I prefer my home, with the throw rugs always pulled a little askew, a potty stain or two still visible even after scrubbing, and more than one piece of furniture with historical puppy teeth marks on the legs ..... and loving dogs that are each as unique as my own kids! Neither of us need to change the other.
