I have had two rescue dogs in the past. Both were young adults(1 & 2yrs old) and house broken when I got them. The years they gave me were loving ones. One lived to be 17 and one 16. Both I had to put down in the end.
Then there's Buddy! Oh boy was he more than I bargained for.
I never had a puppy. I was oblivious to their wants and demands.
I was completely hooked before he showed me his true colors.
It was too late to turn back so the two of us plowed threw puppy-
hood together. It was stressful, he was determined to have things
his way, I got sick with shingles for 6months from all the stress,
I worked full time and
finally got him over the terrible puppyhood stage and survived to
talk about it. It was not easy, I can tell you that.
After the first year things calmed down and so did I.
It was truely worth every bit of the above in the end.
Today he is well trained, obedient, trustworthy, loving
and beautiful. When I think back I have to laugh, now that's it's
over. I raised three kids and they were easier. They didn't potty
in the house, or chew on my furniture, eat the sheets off the bed
and the lights off my Christmas tree, chew the bottom out of
my blue velvet chair in the living room or eat the corner's off
of 13 throw rugs! Heck you either love dogs or you don't.

You just gotta love Buddy
