Donating YT 10K Club Member | The weight standard is 3 - 7 pounds. Btw, a pom's coat requires extensive maintenance and they shed like crazy.

YT 2000 Club Member | We had one growing up that was less than 5 pounds, my sister in law has one that is probably over 10 pounds. So like any other dog out there, the size varies.

| I don't know that much about Poms but I suppose its the same as with yorkies...you get bigger ones and smaller ones...I personally prefer the Yorkie for looks...not biased much! lol..

| It depends on the pom like yorkies they come in all sizes. We had poms for years one weighed 4lbs the other 5. I really get confused with people saying they are high maintenance. We bathed ours weekly and brushed them daily and had no problem at all with shedding. I never found hair on myself or furniture. I didnt find them any harder to maintain than my yorkie. I guess if you didnt groom them maybe then you might have a problem with shedding. |

YT Addict | about the same they are about the same there is big and small yorkies and big and small poms. I think it is harder to find a small pom. You just see more bigger one around here. My granddaddy has a pom that is about 3 1/2-4lbs and he wanted to find a very small stud, and he can't find a male that small. I will say that hair is hard to groom, I have groomed and bath theirs a few time and wanted a pom until I did that. To much work and they shed!!! |

| My friends two poms(that's all she ever gets are poms) are about the same weight as my big yorkie, but, she gives them lots of goodies. As far as shedding, I've held hers with my black tshirt on before, and didn't get any hair on me. She does keep them brushed out though too. They are just adorable little dogs. Kind of barky for me though |

| If you are questioning from a breed standard point of view, the standard for both requires that they not exceed 7 pounds. Unfortunately, you can get sizes all over the place due to dogs being bred with no regard to the standard that defines the breed. This is a particularly troublesome issue with Yorkies lately--the popularity of the breed has spawned many to jump on the bandwagon and breed any two Yorkies they come across. I would say that because of that, you are going to see more Yorkies that are well over the breed standard. |
