I think I realized something today. She does not get aggressive with me til I sit in the floor with her. That is when she jumps on me and starts trying to dominate me. I think I will try to stay elevated above her and not get down on her level. Another other advise is appreciated. | |

| Noelle acts totally embarassed if I use my "angry" voice with her. I honestly think she knows by the look on my face before I even say a word. |

| You have gotten very good advise so far...hope I can help as well. As far as her biting goes...she may very well be teething and is actually chewing on you. But, either way...I found the best way to stop it, is to put a chew toy in her mouth every single time she starts biting...so get use to carrying one around with you. Be consistent...she will learn that she is not to chew on you, she is to chew her toy...then simply walk away from the situation. After awhile try again...and again...and again. Good luck!

| YT 1000 Club Member | You know what? I'm very impressed by this thread and how it was kept on the positive side instead of getting overheated and over reacted to. I love when people take the time to work something out instead and show kindness and understanding! This was awsomeeeee!!

| Dogs are Extremely intuned to your body language and voice intonations If you sound angry .... they are going to react to that anger even if they do not know what you are saying For example ... when you find that your pup pooped on the carpet maybe yesterday If you show anger your pup might run and hide or put his head down But he can in no way understand what you are so angry about When I tell my Zach NO BARK! He comes over to me and gnaws on my fingers complaining It's so funny .... you can tell he's asking permission to bark

| We have quite a bit of dicipline issues at our house, because my mom is home with Chloe all the time and has her spoiled but when I go home she does NOT get away with biting and tantrums. I tell her "no" in a firm voice then put her in a corner, tell her to stay and keep her there for 2 minutes. IF she is still giving sass (show teeth) when i go to take her out she gets an extra minute, if she decides to leave the corner before her 2 minutes are up I put her back without saying anything and give her "the look".

| Yea at 6 months she's in her "terrible two" phase. Consistency is key. Also, taking her to obedience classes could help.

| Update: I tried the pennies in the can last night. We were in my bedroom. I usually get on the floor, but decided not to get in the floor, since that is when most of the bad behavior starts. She started biting my feet. I said "no bite" and decided to get up on my bed. *my attempt to ignore her*. I then went and got the penny can and got back on my bed. She started jumping and digging on the bedspread. I told her "No, get off" in a very firm voice. She started barking, so I shook the can one time, and said NO in a firm voice. It scared her to death. Poor girl. But I can tell you, the rest of the night all I had to do was reach for the can and she straightened right up. I hope to get the same results tonight. |
