If you scold your baby Do they have the good grace to act like they are in trouble:confused: I scolded Bonnie, and told her to get on her bed. She did, but barked at me, like she was sassing:p |
Oh how funny!!! Mandie just looks at you like "oh im so sorry" and tucks her little tail in between her legs. |
Yeah, the story is very funny. Just be careful that she does not think she is the leader of the pack. My dog just rolls over when I scold him. He hates to be in trouble. |
Oh, and I would like to know how old was your baby when they acted like they knew right from wrong. |
He knows he did something wrong by the tone of my voice. Happy cheerful tone means good heavy low tone means bad. I use my voice to teach him the house rules. |
If my mom yells at Roxie she hides behind me or runs and climbs in her crate (which she will never ever get in otherwise.) If I yell at Roxie she barks right back, sometimes climbing stuff (like the couch) until she's on my level. She thinks she's in charge. Fortunately she DOES know right from wrong. She'll come to me crying if she had an accident in the house. Sometimes she does bad things just to get attention... Like she'll come up to me holding a playing card or something, but she does it ever so delicately with a tiny bit of the corner in her mouth. I guess she can tell that I'm never REALLY mad at her. Even when she's in trouble, she's adorrable. |

My two babies are so funny when I scold them! They come up and plant kisses on my face!! It's like they're saying, "I'm sorry mommy...don't get mad!":p I can never stay mad at them! |

Sometimes my dog likes to whine or refuses to walk on his leash. The only thing that stops him from doing those things is to point my finger by his nose, look into his eyes, and say no. He always stops crying or walks on his leash. I am telling him I am serious, and I am not playing with him. When he stops crying or walks on his leash, I talk to him in a cheerful voice or I give him a treat. |
I watch many dog training shows. I like to learn how to train my dogs, because dogs do not think the way we do. Our dogs should not bark or growl at us when we are correcting them. We have to make sure the dog knows we are the leader of the pack. Your story was cute, and your Yorkie is cute too. Yorkie puppies do not know the right or wrong behaviors in our house. We have to teach them the house rules through consistency and pashent. I was just trying to remind you about being the leader of the pack in a nice way. I want the best for you and your Yorkie. My comment was not to offend or belittle but to help. |
Sweetlips, have you tried rolling your pup's lip into her mouth when she bites? If time outs and yelping like a packmate don't do it, I'd say that's the third line of defense. |

Sweetlips, something else you might try is throwing her favorite chew toy in the freezer for a few hours. She might like getting her gums numbed a little. Another, more forceful method to prevent biting is to hold her mouth closed for a few seconds after she tries to bite you. While you hold her mouth closed, tell her NO. |
You were not the only one to think the OP wasnt that bothered, so please dont take offence. I think it was the little smiley with the tongue pulled out on the OPs post that made me think she just wanted to share something amusing!! |
