| Hello and yorkie haircuts Hello all, I've been lurking for a little while and it sounds like there is a lot of experience and knowledge here. I own Sophie a very spoiled 9 month old yorkie. Up till now, I've only had Sophie's face and feet hair clipped when I have her groomed. Her hair isn't overly long, but it isn't short either. I'm thinking of something shorter and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? Also, she doesn't hold her ears up, any suggestions there? When we got her, they had most of her ear shaved, but the groomer says Sophie won't let them do much more than tip them. I've heard about taping their ears, but I'm scared I might end up doing it wrong and hurting her. We have 3 real kids (20, 18 and 7), but Sophie is still our baby. Thanks, Debra |

| Hello and welcome. We keep Oscar (1 and 1/2 year old Yorkie) cut in what's called a puppy cut. We would like to keep it longer, but he makes it impossible as he is super active and constantly playing outside, he comes in with all kinds of fun stuff stuck in his hair (leaves, twigs, you name it.) Oscar's ears never stood up either. We thought about taping them, but decided against it because he is just so darn cute with his big floppy ears. Unless you are going to show her, you don't have to tape her ears unless that's what you prefer. I would talk to your vet or groomer before doing so to make sure you do it right.

| I just got Jackson's hair cut at the groomers into, I guess, what you call a puppy cut. I love it. He's always outside and into everything so it's easiest.
