Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | Hi Tammy welcome!!!! My lil Gidget was like that when she was young. I take her to work with me, so Id bring dog food in my pockets and would give them to her throughout the day like treeats. I also gave her a dab of nutrical in the morning and at night. By about 9 months she started eating pretty well. Just a thought, although sometimes when you hand feed they get pretty spoiled. Linda |

| My Luna was a picky eater at that age, we almost lost her to hypoglycemia Your baby may be having a hard time chewing the food. It took a while for me to find a kibble that was good quality AND easy for Luna to chew. I ended up discovering Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance. The kibbles look big at first, but they are thinner and flat, so easier to chew The other thing that helped was when we got Izzy, she just couldn't stand another doggy eating her food, so she would eat very well

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Hi Tammy and welcome to Yorkie Talk. Congratulations on your new yorkie baby. Yorkies can be fussy eaters, but I think your little girl might get better with the hard food once she gets a little older. Though sharp, her teeth are so small and still being a pup, she could be teething also. I've got a little guy (about 4 1/2 lbs full grown) and he still takes longer to eat than my other two. If the kibble is a little big you might try chopping/grinding it smaller for a while. If you're mixing in soft food also, keep in mind that she might be eating the soft first & getting to full to eat the dry. It doesn't take a whole lot of food to fill these little yorkie tummies. You might try putting just enough soft food in there to kind of coat the dry. Good luck........we'd also love to see pics of your little girl and know her name

You might try a different puppy food. Innova has tiny little triangular kibble with a hole in the middle, making it easy for tiny mouths to bite. Royal Canin has a softer puppy kibble, also a triangular shape. The smaller pet shops will have samples out that you can try. That helps a lot in finding one your puppy will like. I find that they all like canned food and will take it over the hard kibble most of the time. You may have to stop offering the canned to get yours to eat the dry. You can dampen the dry kibble for a few days to help get her interested. Good luck!

| HI Tammy (love your name) lol Congrats on the new furbaby....I'm all too familiar with picky eaters...My Daizy I think wins the prize for Pickiest furbutt EvER) You've gotten some great suggestions already... I'd definately go to a pet shop and get samples...that might help you to find a food your baby likes...although Daizy hated them ALL ....only consolation for me was that eventually she would eat when she was hungry.....no matter how much she hated her food...lol good luck! And WELCOME to YT!

| HI and to YT! My babies were the same way. I feed them Royal Canin. It's small and perfect size for their mouths. I mix in wet food. Cesars puppy food comes in a small pink labled container(you can get it at any grocery). I cut it in quarters and then cut the quarter in half and split it between my 2 babies. I mush it into the dry food. They love it...and it's a very small amount. They eat all their dry food. Which keeps me happy on your new baby!

| When my little Abby was that small I mixed some babyfood with her kibble and had to feed her every 3-4 hrs. |
