Your baby may be having a hard time chewing the food. It took a while for me to find a kibble that was good quality AND easy for Luna to chew. I ended up discovering Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance. The kibbles look big at first, but they are thinner and flat, so easier to chew
The other thing that helped was when we got Izzy, she just couldn't stand another doggy eating her food, so she would eat very well
