| ![]() I think that Yorkietalk is the one place that a grieving dog owner should be able to go and spill out his/her sorrow over her beloved pet. Sometimes stories may not "add up" and often it is because the OP is in an overwhelmed state of mind pouring out her grief through a keyboard. A post is not a usually edited to be "novel-like" and accurate; it is a written conversation of heartfelt feelings and opinions. IMO, Yorkietalk should be a shoulder to cry on-a forum where people can actually understand what you are going through because they have fur-kids too. It costs nothing to be kind, sympathetic and supportive. Hugs to the OP of this thread and kindest wishes for a best possible outcome for all involved.

| ![]() First I feel bad for stormy and hope she is doing better, I also agree something doesnt sound right with the entire thing story from all the OP posts. yes vets will treat and rehome or keep animals that can be saved only if the owner agrees to sign over rights. My personal opinion, even if you dont want to "be in the room" when your animal is put down, I would at least stay at the office until I knew for a fact it was done. Thank goodness the 2nd vet rechecked her! We have had several dogs over the 20+years that we had to put down due to old age, cancer, etc, and I have been in there each and every time and wouldnt have it any other way. I would never want my anaimals to leave this world looking at people they didnt know.. |

| ![]() I agree, I wish them the best. It's just puzzling to me how a dog can go from critical one day to fine and normal the next. I sure would be having a talk with the vet that said she needed to be put down. Good luck to you and Stormy. |

Would you not prefer to think that your dog is now living a happy life and get the best of care? What I don't believe is the first vet telling her to have the dog put down if indeed the dog could be healed. But I'm not sure if the vet suggested that or if the OP decided that would be the best option since she did not want the dog to suffer and could not afford the care. And then upon examining the dog, the vet decided that the dog was not critical and since their job is to heal and not to destroy, he offered her a better option. I feel very bad for poor Stormy, and I hope the OP makes the right decision for the best interest of the dog. | |

| ![]() I am having trouble with that too. Especially since she mentioned in previous threads that the vet had suggested the dog be put down, and everytime the dog recovered. |

| ![]() If my Suzi were very ill and I could not afford to give her the medical care she needed to survive and was a life death situation, I'd sign her over to the vet and let them take care of her. i'd cry my eyes out, yet know it was the right thing to do, because it would be saving her life in the long run giving her a chance of living. That is juat how I feel and how I would do things if ai were ever placed in this situation. I will be praying for Stormy.
