| ![]() Well, this question is why I don't have my old vet that I really thought the world of. We have spay/neuter vouchers here that we get from the animal shelter for $60 or $65. I took Fritz, my first biewer in to be neutered the day after I bought him 3 years ago. I went back that night to pick him up, there were like 6 people standing behind me. The vet walked out and said "Hey Ms Sherrie", I said hey Dr Ross. Then he said, what kind of dog is that? I said a biewer terrier, he said, well, that dog must have at least cost you $2500, I said yeah, somewhere near that. Then he said and I did this for charity?? I felt like crawling out of there, I know my face had to be 3 shades of red. I thought it was very unprofessional of him. Then about 3 mos. later, my friend whom also uses that vet, called to tell me she had called up there at the vets to see if they still took vouchers, as she had gottem a pom and wanted to get her spayed. She asked the receptionist if Dr Ross still took vouchers, the receptionist said yeah, but, he's kind of funny about it since some woman brought her $2500 dog in. She knew exactly who they were talking about. |

| ![]() Oh I did think the world of this vet, and he has a fantastic website now that I still visit a lot, it's very informative. When we had to have our 18 year old golden retriever put down back in 2002 he is the one we took her too, he had tears in his eyes too. It was bad enough that he said what he did in front of everyone, but for them to talk about it to other people. I should have seen what I could have done about that. He also would pull teeth for free when he had the dog under doing spaying and neutering, which was great. The vet I have now is good, but, very expensive |

![]() It reminds me of the one family I had talked to while looking at the pups they had to offer, she was telling me how I should be careful on what kind of jewellery I had on and how I dressed when buying from some breeders. They sum you up and charge accordingly. | |

| ![]() I don't answer the money question because I think it is rude. I don't care to answer how much I paid for my house or my car, but Mazee? nope, she is off limits, LOL I laugh off the question when I hear it or I just say I can't remember..which they know better than that, but that seems to let them know that it isn't any of their business.

| ![]() My answer is always; "Alot, and even more in vet bills" I think that the question is really rude, some people have no tact.

| ![]() maybe you should ask how much their son or daughter cost. I am sure they would never put a price on their children |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | ![]() I've been thinking about this question and what I would say if it were asked of me. I think I would have to say, "She cost me my heart which makes her priceless." Then again, I might say, "She was so expensive I worked 30 years to be able to afford her." (Late retirement gift..LOL) Cute aside... When I start teaching in the mid-70's, mood rings were very popular. It just so happened that the bright blue "happy" color was almost the same as the stone in my college ring. One of my students was fascinated by the ring I wore and kept trying to get me to give it to him. I told him it was way too expensive to give to him. When he asked how much it cost, I told him $10,000. I can still remember the look on his face...LOL (Best investment I've ever made...LOL...today that ring would cost about $100,000 at least.) |

| ![]() I have 1 Yorkie and 2 adopted Daughters from South Korea. I get asked all the time how much I payed for all three of them!! My girls are 17 and 23 years old. I smile sweetly and tell them that my 30 year old lover is cheaper to keep for 6 months than it cost to adopt the three most precious loves of my life!!!! My kids go, "OH MOM" and Keep on walking !! My Husband of almost 30 years { on May 5th} just smiles and goes to the car and gets in to drive us home!! But, I swear I hear Baron Belly Laughing all the way back to the car!! I don't stress over it, I just laugh it off, Life is way too short!! ![]()
