Yokrie sounds like a goose! How do I know if its collapsed trachea? Rocky sounds like a goose sometimes. But he does it at times of displeasure. Say if I am eating and he wants to have a little bit of my food. AS soon as he gets its he is fine again. It doesnt happens outside when we go out. It almost sounds like his nose is stuffed. Thanks

| That goose sound is do to a soft trachea, and if you use a collar to walk the dog, it will lead to a collapse trachea. Use a step in no-choke harness. I use these harness on all three of my girls, even though just my Zada "honks".

It also sounds like it could be reverse sneezing, which is what mine has, and feeding them does stop it, as they have to open their mouths to breathe. When they do reverse sneezing, they aren't breething out of their mouths. I ususally take my hand and put it over my yorkies nose to get her to start breathing out of her mouth, which then she quits doing the honking sound

Thank you all! I always used the harness, and never pulled him as I am aware of trachea problems in this little breed. He does have this more often after he eats or when he drinks water fast. WE are going to the doctor. I noticed that he often does it it when I rub his belly too. Feels like pleasure or displeasure related at times as well. I do cover his nose a little for him to clear up, and it helps out but not consistently. WE are going to a doctor soon, just for check up, will see whats up. Thank You

No it doesnt happen like that. It happens when I pet him, or when he wants something bad, say sit with us when we have dinner. SO its almost like his little language, sounds like a little gremlin at times. Its cute and all, but I still want to know. Also if I tell him, Rocky STOP it, he will cut it out.
