| So very very sad. Reminds me of a neighbour when I was young and his "chain dog". I asked if I could walk him and brush him (I was twelve and so tired of seeing this poor boy left all alone with no attention) and he replied "You worry about your stuff and I'll worry about mine". Then he told my parents to keep me out of his business. Some people just don't see it. Sad sad sad.... |

| I agree, call animal control. Atleast, the small chain will be addressed and they have to provide shelter if the dog is left outside. Maybe Animal Control showing up to look in on the dog will get them to give it up. Keeping my fingers crossed it works.

| Poor little Guy!!! I'd ask the family if they'd give him to you!! If not call Aniaml Control,The Police, The Local Humane Society, The Local T.V. Station, Local Newspaper... Whatever it took to get poor Chico away from this kind of ABUSE!! Using a heavy chain to restrain a small dog is Abuse! Take pics of this and go @ night and see if he's out there and does he have something clean to sleep on and protection from the elements! i.e. a dog house of some kind Does he have food and water visible and is it clean?? This is so sad...![]() ![]() Some how get him away from those people!!! They don't deserve to have any pets. I wonder how they treat their kids?? Makes me shudder to think about that one!!!

| I will never understand why people get dogs and then keep them chained up outdoors rather than treating them as members of the family. Just don't get a dog! I hope you can find a way to help this little guy. I agree with calling Animal Control, unless you feel they would be amenable to hearing what you have to say directly. Unfortunately, it seems most people aren't.

We had a good friend make a comment about our dog last night at dinner that actually bothered hubby more than me. But I am so sick with a cold right now I really wasn't tuned into the conversation. At any rate they don't have a dog and I hope they never get one. Our dog is "special needs" since she was a rescue who spent the first 4 years of her life as a breeder dog. So she is special to us and we treat her like a child, some people just don't get that.

I like the idea of going back and talking to them about Chico. I got the feeling of these girls were not being truthful what so ever about Chico. They asked me if Suzi was a "teacup" And prided themselves by telling me Chico was. I told them no , Suzi is a regular Yorkie, A 7lber. I know Chico was a tiny, but all his overgrown, scraggly hair could not tell me much. I did observe that only half the top of his hair was the silver blue, so I did not by into their story of him be a 15 yr old yorkie. It was so heartbreaking to me that I needed to go away from the unslightly scene. AND knowing how upset Chico was by Suzi. My Suzi did not even take notice of little Chico, barking at her. She was too busy looking at everything elese. I am going back over there now that I know where he lieves, and offer treats . Perhaps they do not want him anymore? Maybe I could make a deal with them? Why have a beautiful Yorkie and treat him this way? I felt like it was more then just plain ignorance, it was abusive.

| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Yes, the joke is on them. We like our friends alot buy our rescue Yorkie is our baby. RE: Chico If they have a chain on him that kinda says they want him or they'd let him run loose. If you ask them if they would like to give him a new home I bet they say no. If you do ask be careful not to offend them or they will say no even if they don't want him.

| I think offering a little money will help but ask in a nice way otherwise you wouldn't even have the chance to go near Chico anymore and that will be sad . Listening to what you said, I don't think they will just give the dog up for free. I can't see nor hear an animal being treated like that it just breaks my heart.
