| Just checked Gov Bob Riley's website and I don't see that he has signed this into law yet. I'm not a Bob Riley fan and I hope that knucklehead doesn't find some reason to veto the bill. I'll be keeping my eye on this. Thanks for all your hard work Kris!!!

| I agree. I was told yesterday by a veterinary assistant that all the vets in Al are opposing it. Less money for them. Tucker's mom |

| Noticed that the Governor hasn't signed this Bill yet. So.....I sent the following letter (email): I have been keeping an eye on the press releases regarding SB #469. It is my understanding that this Bill passed both houses of the Alabama legislature without a single vote against it and on 5/14/09 it was sent to the Governors desk for consideration to be signed into law. Why has this Bill not been signed? The voters worked very hard to get this piece of legislation introduced and passed. These same voters are keeping an eye on the Governors office, and are growing concerned over what appears to be the Governors apprehension to sign this Bill into law. Can I get an update? I'll let you all know if I get a reply. Here's the link to the Governors email if anyone cares to add their two cents: State of Alabama - Office of Governor Bob Riley

| Actually, I was informed that he signed the bill into law a couple of weeks ago and that it would be effective August 1st.

Kris, You are correct. To my amazement, 15 minutes after sending that email I GOT A CALL FROM THE GOVERNORS OFFICE It wasn't the Governor himself that called, but some other guy. He, in fact, did inform me that the Bill was signed and will go into affect on Aug 1. He did not know why a press release hadn't been issued, but did say that they may have been waiting for Aug 1 to make the "official" announcement.Yea, for Alabama!!
