| At the risk of sounding completely ignorant Can Yorkies see in the dark? I always wonder at night, does she really need me to leave a light on or can she see where her wee pad is? Sometimes I forget to switch it on and she makes it fine. Sometimes she misses altogether even with the light on...stubborn ole girl. Anyway, can she? |

| I haven't a clue, but have always left a light on for my babies. One of those small bedside lamps with the tri-light, I think it might be 15 watts. I do know when I did forget, Oscar would stand at the end of the bed like he couldn't see to jump down - until I turned on the tv to brighten the room a bit. |

| They can see better in the dark than humans can, but still need some light. Cats can see with even a very minimal amount of light.

| Thank ya kindly. I think a nightlight would be a good idea. I hate seeing the light on all night but didn't want her to be "blind" all night either. Thanks much! |

| She can find her puddle pad at night by scent...with the exception of sight hounds, a dog's nose gives them much more information than their eyes!

| I always leave the bathroom light on in our bedroom for Gucci and sometimes he is still stubborn if I don't wake up when he is WHINING in the morning and he goes on the carpet ( I SWEAR HE DOES IT ON PURPOSE TO TEACH ME ABOUT NOT GETTING UP WHEN HE SAYS LOL) I then "get up" like a "good mommy" does and clean it ... the lil stinker!!! I do think some light helps just to answer the question.. and the only STUPID QUESTION IS THE ONE NOT ASKED |

| There is NEVER a dumb question if it is to benefit the well being and good care of a Yorkie!!! I really have never thought of it, but I do know that Shelby and Seymour can find their way around in the dark.... but it maybe possible that a puppy in new surroundings may need a little "assisitance" to find their way for a few days!

| I think they can see, but not very well. Even more so, dogs have such a great sense of smell... I think their nose takes the place of their eyes in the dark If that makes sense Good question
