Yes alot of vets do de-barking. At least the dogs are under anethesia when it is done.

Thanks!!Alot of breeders/kennels have their dogs de-barked. I guess if you have 20 dogs, the noise level gets pretty loud. this sounds like a really good bill.

One thing that bothers me, is that whenever there is a rescue, some of these dogs are seriously matted, and cannot move without ripping their skin. Also nails are often long and curved and growing into skin. It just seems that they could have minimum grooming standards as well.

Obviously, I could not agree more. That last bust by the HSUS (not the ASPCA video) showed exactly the kind of physical neglect these dogs live in. They also have urine burns on their paw pads, so cage maintenance should be addressed as well.

Exactly!! This is what should be addressed in these bills, not the number of dogs(within reason, that is), how many puppies/litters, annual fees for every dog/litter, or just plain micro-managing breeders. I know when AKC inspects,they look at the condition of the dogs and the kennel set up as well as the records.
