| [QUOTE=llcornell;2475357]How is Truman doing today? Hopefully eating better and coughing less ![]() Have you heard anything about the job yet? [/QUOTEI am so excited for Truman~he is definitely coughing much less although he still has coughing spells but they are getting less and less frequent. He actually ate good dog food today and took his one pill for the day. The other is now to be given every other day until gone. I took him out today for potty and for the first time since I have had him he actually lifted his leg to pee. I was actually shocked when he did it! When I first brought him home he couldn't even stand without falling over but today he was strong enough to lift his leg for potty and he didn't even wobble! The progress has been slight but significant in the week that he has been with me. I can't believe how much he has changed in the last week.

So his new trick is when he is outside for potty he will do a handstand almost when he squats for potty! It is the craziest thing ever!!!! He must be very strong in his front legs because he will actually balance on his front legs. I thought I was seeing things but my husband and son all said they saw him doing it too

| Yay Truman!!! Hopefully, he will have forgotten all about his old life soon. With the loving home you and your family are providing for him, I'm sure he will continue to improve quickly! I love all the pictures - he is such a cutie! You can almost read his expression "ahhhh..heaven!"

| Truman is doing so much better! It is amazing how much he has changed in the little over a week he has been with me! I am now convinced that the reason he was falling over when he was at the shelter was because he was so weak that he was just not able to stand. I think his teeth are in such bad shape that we was unable to eat the dry kibble so they just did nothing for him. His coughing although not completely gone is very much better. He still has a few more days of medicine to take but with each day he is stronger. He is up to eating 2 small bowls of food a day! Now for the biggest accomplishment yet! Yesterday he walked over to my husband and SAT! Up until yesterday all he was capable of doing was to maybe walk around a little and then lay (collapse) back into his bed. But yesterday when my husband was sitting on the couch Truman walked over to him, wagged his tail and then SAT DOWN on his hind legs! He is slowly coming back from near death! OH yeah~Truman can BARK! ![]() I will try to post a few more pictures when he is up and moving around.

| Oh, now that is SO cool! Isn't it wonderful to watch them improve? My Maltese, Nash, had to have emergency dental surgery a couple of days after we got him. He was so thin you could count his ribs and his breath was so bad, he could have wilted trees! I took him to the vet and was told he was on the verge of sepsis and he was thin because his teeth were so bad he could barely eat. The vet took out all of his teeth but 7, and the poor boy was on antibiotics for 6 weeks, but he finally healed. Today he is a roly poly little gentleman who crunches kibble just fine with the remaining teeth...just so long we buy small enough pellets. He was a sad little wreck of a dog when we got him, but love and kindness and taking care of his medical issues have turned him into a terrific dog. I would expect nothing less for your Truman.
